Cold Status Changed To "On Hiatus" Rather Than "Broken Up"
It seems that Cold frontman Scooter Ward has had a change of heart about disbanding his group. In a posting to his MySpace page, Ward said that while he'd announced back in late February that the band was finished, "Cold will take a break" as he continues work on his latest project, the Witch, which also features Cold drummer Sam McCandless. "Cold will be back soon," Ward wrote. "This, for me, is the best of both worlds. The more music, the better."
Scooter Ward made a lengthy statement early this year and announced that the band was calling it a day after disappointing sales performance of the band's fourth album, "A Different Kind of Pain."

Cold are great, for nu-metal. I hope they don't disband, personally, just so they can continue to raise the bar for nu-metal artists; hopefully, through Cold and other better nu-metal acts, mainstream artists and fans will begin to get into proper metal. Not that I want, say Thrash to become mainstream and have little groupy 12 year old Testament fans running around crying on each others shoulders, but I'm getting awfully sick of the current mainstream population.
Well if they went from "disbanded" to "on hiatus" (which almost never happens) obviously Scooter thought there was something left for Cold to say (even after that largely sh**ty last album)..
.I'll pick up another Cold album if it's like the first 3 Cold records rather than the last one.

If there's a god his name is scooter ward. His music has really helped me alot.I wish i could meet him and just say thank you.Cold or The Witch it doesn't matter as long as scooter ward is apart of the band, for the people that feel like me,we need him,we need his lyrics,to make the pain go away.Stay cold!

Yes! In the metal world, "hiatus" means "too afraid to call it quits for good". That's what it is really. If Cold ever record anything ever again, there'll be one song on the radio and the CD will be better off underneath a beer or other beverage. That's right, a Cold CD is better off protecting my table from condensation that anywhere near a CD player. F*ck Cold.

you know what, f uck you man. U talk way too much sh*t. And what have u contributed to the music community? not a damn thing, so you have no place to talk mutha f ucker. Cold might not be that great of a band, but at least they do what they love, and at least they've been successful in the past, unlike your b**** a$$ who does nothing but talk sh**. in the words of the great Maynard........... F UCK YOU buddy

They were ok at best. A couple good songs on the disc with "no one" Not a band I'm wishing would call it quits, but I wouldn't miss 'em. The singer is a pretty good song writer (lyrically), I'm sure he'll be back, maybe with some line-up changes or a different band.

I my humble opinion, Cold has gotten better with every album. There have been some ups and downs on individual songs, but it has been a breath of fresh air to hear insightful lyrics with a positive divine influence. There seems to me to be a deliberate attempt by Cold to elevate the relevance and message over these albums. In addition, the music has tamed down some in an attempt to mature from the sometimes aggressive second album. I wish Mr. Ward luck in the future, and I am confident I will purchase "Cold" and "The Witch".
