Phil Labonte Stepping In For Ivan Moody On Tour
With only seven shows to go on the band's current U.S. co-headlining arena tour alongside Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch will finish out the current trek with All That Remains vocalist Phil Labonte filling in for frontman Ivan Moody, who has fallen ill.
Says Zoltan Bathory, guitarist of Five Finger Death Punch: "Ivan is our brother and we fully and wholeheartedly support him taking care of himself so he can get well as soon as possible. We discussed possibly canceling the remaining shows but the responses from the other bands on the tour were so overwhelmingly supportive that we decided to move forward and deliver the great night to the fans that they expect.”
Phil Labonte comments: “I got their six and stepped up right away. I’m honored to be able to help Five Finger Death Punch to finish their tour and give Ivan a chance to take care of himself. I did the same for Killswitch Engage years ago. I was humbled to get the call and get a chance to play in front of such a great audience.” More...

The Rockstar Ramblings: Giving Back
Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) is admitting that not only did he fall off the wagon in 2008, but fellow toxic twin, Joe Perry also joined him while they attempted to record a new album. The way Tyler tells it is that Joe was snorting so many prescription drugs he was unable to play guitar. Note that contrary to rumors, snorting non-prescription drugs does not enhance playing guitar…
With eight out of thirteen tracks completed, Sebastian Bach (ex-Skid Row) is expected to have a new album released in the Summer of 2011. Bach is promising rock and roll with clean vocals and lots of screaming. All signs are pointing to Sebastian putting his “country music” years behind him. It appears everyone has agreed to just ignore this and make believe it never happened and that’s fine with me...
After attending classes and making a donation to M.A.D.D., Vince Neil (Motley Crue) is fully clear of his DUI charge. Neil will have the weekend to rest and then appear back in court on Monday for battery and disorderly conduct charges. For those keeping track it’s: Vince Neil 2, Lindsay Lohan 2 for number of court appearances in 2011. The good news is both are below their annual average, the bad news is we are only one-third through the year… More...

Motley Crue Management Dismiss "False Rumours"
Tenth Street Entertainment — which represents MÖTLEY CRÜE — has shot down as (at least partially) "blatantly false and completely unfounded" Internet rumors that CRÜE will headline a festival-type tour called "Cruefest", with support from several other artists from the Tenth Street management stable, including BUCKCHERRY, PAPA ROACH, SIXX: A.M. and DROWNING POOL. According to Tenth Street, CRÜE's April 15 press conference/announcement in Los Angeles will relate to "a few" (but presumably not all) of the following artists:
MÖTLEY CRÜE
ATREYU
SAVING ABEL
SHINEDOWN
CHEVELLE
APOCALYPTICA
THE EXIES
PUDDLE OF MUDD
STAIND
GODSMACK
DROWNING POOL
THEORY OF DEADMAN
THREE DAYS GRACE
AVENGED SEVENFOLD
SIXX: A.M.
TRAPT
SEETHER
FLYLEAF
BUCKCHERRY
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE
RED
BELLE & SEBASTIAN
PETE YORN
THE WALLFLOWERS
3 DOORS DOWN
All four members of CRÜE will be present at the April 15 press conference at a location yet to be determined for what the release hyped as "by far...one of the biggest music announcements of the year!!" The band is also launching a contest in which one grand prize winner from each major city in the country will be flown to Los Angeles to cover the announcement, complete with a chance to interview the band and have the interview broadcast live. Details can be found at the official CRÜE site.
Sixx:AM Postpone Tour Until The Summer
SIXX: A.M., the new band featuring MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx, will postpone its spring tour "due to unforeseen circumstances and will most likely hit the road in the summer of 2008," according to a statement released by the group.
SIXX: A.M. recently let fans vote at VoteSixxAM.com on which cities the group should play in. Those votes have now been counted and will be instrumental in determining which markets the band visits in the future.
Sixx wrote and recorded an album under the name SIXX: A.M. with longtime friends James Michael and D.J. Ashba and has resisted the idea of turning the project into an actual band. But Sixx told The Pulse of Radio that may all be changing. "It seems that people have been able to really feel that it's a band, they really feel that it's something that they can get behind and they can go, 'You know, I really support these guys in what they're doing,'" he said. "It's interesting 'cause we never planned on playing live together, and then we played live together, and that went off so well that I think we accidentally started a band."
Rumors initially surfaced that SIXX: A.M. would tour in February, although Sixx shot down those reports. The project has only played live once so far, last fall at a Utah radio festival.
The SIXX: A.M. album serves as the "soundtrack" to Sixx's recently published book, "The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star".
Twenty-five percent of Sixx's royalties from "The Heroin Diaries" goes to Running Wild In The Night, a charity he established in conjunction with Covenant House to rescue homeless and runaway youth from the streets.
Nikki Sixx Checks In
NIKKI SIXX has issued the following Holiday update:
"I'd like to wish you all a very Happy Holiday. 2007 is about gone and 2008 is gonna be great. Thank you all for the interest, support and loyalty in everything I've been creative in....
..............let me leave you with a prayer I came up with........
God please forgive me for all the evil I have done and some of what I'm about to do too.
See ya next year."
Nikki Sixx
As previously reported, Sixx recently spoke to Boston writer Deb Rao about his 2007 Year in Reflection and release of SIXX A.M.'s latest video,'Accidents Can Happen'.
Nikki comments: "I really love the 'Accidents Can Happen' video there is so much open space to the feel of it. This video feels fresh to me. We wanted to shift the visual from how this project started with the first video to a cleaner video. We went for a look that wasn't so much about the video but about the fact that we are a band and also to let the song be the most important part of the presentation.
It was important working with Paul Brown, (who did the art for the book) to have the video look, smell, and feel like the book. This is a body of work and it's important to us that the theme stays the same throughout. Paul is to me one of the future's brightest stars and darkest souls. He's amazing. As you will see, from the whole concept.
I'm very proud of the fact that our album is a soundtrack to a book. As far as I knew that has never been done before and it called for a different creative focus. I know I speak for James and DJ too when I say to have single touch so many people as well is more than we ever expected.
The Heroin Diaries chapter of my life has been closed for me personally for years now, but seeing it effect others that are like minded or have extended relationships has been very impactful (in a positive way) to my life. It has also opened a lot of doors because of the effect it has had on people. People and organizations whose doors were firmly shut to me before the book and album came out".
Nikki Sixx Denies Sixx: AM Tour
MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx has issued the following statement via MySpace regarding recent reports of an upcoming SIXX: AM tour:
"There has been a lot of rumors that we might tour. I wanted you to hear from us directly that there are no tour plans at this point. This is a very magical project to us and we do plan on making other albums and the dream would be to tour some day, but that day is not as close as radio and press is announcing."
Thanks,
Nikki
