Whitesnake Drops Off Judas Priest Tour

Whitesnake has given an official announcement which has confirmed the rumours that they have dropped off of their current tour supporting Judas Priest. The message reads as follows:

"Unfortunately, last night at the Red Rocks Amphitheater, Denver, Whitesnake had to cut their performance short due to Mr Coverdale experiencing considerable pain in his vocal chords. He was immediately taken to a specialist for examination. The specialist discovered that David was suffering from severe vocal fold edema and a left vocal fold vascular lesion. He was instructed to cancel all performances for the next two weeks & then undergo a further examination. The doctors told us we were fortunate this was caught at a stage where no apparent permanent damage has been caused. We therefore regretfully have to announce that Whitesnake will not be appearing on the remainder of the U.S. tour with Judas Priest, Whitesnake sincerely regrets any disappointment this may cause."

Whitesnake Pulls Out Of Judas Priest Tour?

Whitesnake were forced to cut their set short last night after only four songs because singer David Coverdale is apparantly still not over a recent case of laryngitis. He gave a sincere apology to the crowd, stating "I'm sorry, I tried, I just can't do it."

Sources are now claiming that Whitesnake has pulled out of the tour with Judas Priest because of Coverdale's illness. Judas Priest and Pop Evil are expected to play longer sets to make up for Whitesnake's absence. Stay tuned for official word on the tour.

The Rockstar Ramblings: Rock Tavern Edition

This week announced the official open of Feelgood’s Rock Bar & Grill, the new venture from Vince Neil (Motley Crue), in Las Vegas. Neil is by no means the first rock star to open a bar. For many years Sammy Hagar, Alice Cooper, as well as others have made the connection of booze to rock fans. However, what makes this particular opening special is the expectations set for decadence in a true rock and roll atmosphere. With a sound system fit for a stadium you will find live rock (including a house band), privacy in the V-rooms, and hosting after-parties for the bands Whitesnake and Judas Priest (already booked) Neil is introducing the future of rock bars. The question is who will be the next to follow this trend? I’ve broken down some of the potential favorites: More...

Rob Halford Starts His Own Metal God Apparel

Halford has been shown as a stylish person in the form of the way he takes care of his metal appearance. There is a need to be very distinctive when representing an image of a Metal God to the audience as he wants his personal feelings about the line of apparel to become imbedded within it. The singer’s clothing line shows a need to be different in the form of displaying different imagery of crosses and other things that vary from his own normal attire.

The naming of the clothing is pretty excellent with things like “Sad Wings” that should be familiar to his fans. There will be a whole line of clothing from the normal t-shirts to pants and shoes as well. Furthermore, the creation of his line of clothing goes along nicely with the starting of his own Metal God Records label this year.

Judas Priest To Release New Live DVD Next Year

The tour will feature the band performing their legendary "British Steel" album in full. You can read some excerpts of the interview below.

On speaking on the bands longevity and contunued success, Halford stated:

"If you love what you do, you're going to put your heart and soul into it and that's what we do in PRIEST. You have to think consistently about your longevity. If you've had a long journey in rock 'n' roll, you put value and importance to those songs, no matter how many hundreds of thousands of times you've played them. Because at that particular moment when you're standing on the stage in, say, the Detroit area and you're playing 'Breaking the Law' for what may feel like the millionth time, it's for the first time in that moment in time."
