In celebration of the momentous event, the band offer fans a music video for "Welcome to the Garden State." Check out the infectious song and video that pays homage to Jersey below.
Bobby Blitz comments, "Not before in our video history have we presented something so artistically-seedy. This due to the brilliant yet twisted, vision of the editing room genius, behind the camera magic and damn tenacity of Mr. Tommy Jones; a good standing card carrying Jersey Boy, who did the band and the state proud. We had verbalized the story line to Tommy, who fully got it and we all created something to be proud of. So when you visit the Garden State, see or hear something that is different for you and you think; 'hmmmm that's not the way we do it at home.' Remember this, you're not at home anymore... are you?" Legendary New Jersey thrashers Overkill will unleash their 19th studio record, "The Wings Of War," on February 22, 2019, via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band has released the second single entitled, 'Head Of A Pin'. Watch the lyric video below.
Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth comments, "'Head of a Pin' took a long time to come together, it is probably the tune that went through the most changes and the last one I finished. Looking back on its development, the time invested was all well worth it. The tonality of the guitar shines on it and the song goes 'other places', traditional with a touch of the down-low-dirty riff, and a sing-along chorus...personally, one of my favorites off 'The Wings of War.'" Overkill Reveals New Album Details
Legendary New Jersey thrashers Overkill will unleash their 19th studio record, The Wings Of War, on February 22, 2019 via Nuclear Blast .
Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth comments, "It was a blast making The Wings of War! It is something old feeling new again, as our chemistry was altered by the addition of Jason Bittner. I was curious from the get-go, how would it pan out? I think what we accomplished here is a new, upgraded Overkill that embraced the new chemistry, while taking our roots into the present. The new formula produced not only more raw power, but more places to go with melody, a win, win. The key is being not only interested in the change, but part of it. I'll tell you what, it's still fun as hell making Overkill records."
The Wings Of War was recorded at Gear Recording Studio in New Jersey, SKH Studio in Florida and Jrod Productions with engineering handled by DD and Dave. The album was produced by the band while Chris "Zeuss" Harris.handled the mixing and mastering. Travis Smith (Nevermore, Opeth, Soilwork, Death...) was again enlisted to create the artwork for the album. More...
