Final Bands Confirmed For Graspop 2010

The organisers of Belgiums biggest metal festival, Graspop Metal Meeting, has confirmed the final bands for this years edition of the event. The biggest news is that Soulfly, the band led by former Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera, will be headlining the event on the Saturday. Other bands added to the bill include New York hardcore legends Sick Of It All, former Guns N Roses guitarist Slash, Hatebreed, Revamp, Oceans Of Sadness and Dear Superstar. The festival takes place in the town of Dessel from June 25th-27th.

Twenty Two More Bands Confirmed For Download 2010

The organisers of Britains Download festival has announced a further twenty two additions to this years lineup. Glam metal veterans Ratt and Cinderella will be performing at the event, as will British heavy metal icons Saxon. Other bands confirmed for the festival include Hellyeah, H.I.M., Airbourne, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Y&T, Unearth, Steel Panther, Job For A Cowboy, A Day To Remember, Lawnmower Deth, Coheed & Cambria, 36 Crazyfists, Dommin, Whitechapel, Taking Dawn, August Burns Red, The Blackout, Rise To Remain and We Are The Fallen.

The festival takes place at Donington Park and will be held from friday the 11th of June to sunday the 13th. Other bands confirmed for the festival include Motorhead, Megadeth, Deftones and Them Crooked Vultures, as well as headlining acts AC/DC, Rage Against The Machine and Aerosmith.

Among the latest acts are American supergroup Hellyeah, Australian rockers Airbourne and British heavy metal veterans Raven. The other confirmed bands are Katatonia, Evergrey, The Devil's Blood, Eluveitie, Finntroll, Dark Funeral, 3 Inches Of Blood and Sylosis. Stone Temple Pilots has issued the following update:

"Happy St. Patrick's Day friends! To celebrate the holiday, the South by Southwest show tomorrow, and the tour dates popping up everywhere, we are sharing the never before seen album artwork with you."

Four More Bands Confirmed For Graspop 2010

The organisers of Belgium's Graspop Metal Meeting festival has announced that four more bands have now been added to the lineup. The biggest announcement is that Aerosmith will be headlining the event on the friday. Also joining them that day will be reunited California grungers Stone Temple Pilots. Industrial metal legends Fear Factory will be performing at the festival and so will Atlanta based metal outfit Mastodon, who are still touring in support of their critically acclaimed album, "Crack The Skye."

Aerosmith And RATM Added To Download Festival

American hard rock legends Aerosmith and rap rock veterans Rage Against The Machine have been confirmed as the headline acts at this year's edition of Britain's Download Festival, in addition to previously announced headliners AC/DC. At LAX, Axl Rose (GUNS N ROSES) got into a scuffle with a paparazzo that ended up with a few bloodied participants. Even with Rose flying to Taiwan there is still concern about whether he will be in the mood to perform, a question that had been raised earlier in the week when the rest of the band flew to the gig without the singer. Stone Temple Pilots Singer Suffers Seizure

According to Rollingstone.com, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS frontman Scott Weiland experienced a mild seizure on a commercial flight from Los Angeles to Miami that resulted in the plane having to make an emergency landing at Dallas Fort Worth Airport.

A rep traveling with Weiland tells Rolling Stone exclusively that the airplane staff called for medical assistance over the loud speaker and had to administer oxygen to Weiland. Shortly after, Weiland had come to and was “in good spirits” as was taken off the plane for the hospital.

Weiland was traveling with his Scott Weiland Band to Miami for a performance and the launch of his clothing line Weiland for English Laundry at the club Mansion. The rep said the singer has a history of seizures, but is now “doing great” and expects to leave for Miami tomorrow and appear at the club as scheduled.

Stone Temple Pilots Announces Tour Dates

Reunited grunge legends Stone Temple Pilots will be heading out on the road this October for a tour of the United States. More details, including tour dates and support, to be announced shortly. The band are currently working on new material for a release next year.

Both Slash (Guns N Roses/Velvet Revolver) and Steven Adler (Guns N Roses/Adler’s Appetite) have filed restraining orders against the same woman. Adler claims a woman he met in rehab is stalking him. She is also trying to contact Adler through Slash. One thing we know for sure, she definitely has a type. KROQ's "Almost Acoustic Christmas" Lineup Revealed

Long running Los Angeles-based radio station KROQ has announced the lineup for their upcoming 2008 Almost Acoustic Christmas. The long-running event will feature a number of favorites including Metallica, The Offspring, Rise Against, AFI, Slightly Stoopid, The Cure, Death Cab for Cutie, Stone Temple Pilots, Paramore, Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol, Vampire Weekend, Hollywood Undead, and more.

Stone Temple Pilots Announces More Shows

Reunited grungers Stone Temple Pilots has announced two more shows for this winter.

The dates are as follows:

Dec 31st - Club Nokia - Los Angeles, California

Frontman Scott Weiland has stated that he is unsure of the bands future once the touring is complete and the band are currently involved in a lawsuit with their record label, Atlantic, who claims that the band owes them three more albums.

Scott Weiland To Release New Album In November

Stone Temple Pilots/ex-Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland has revealed that his new solo album, entitled "Happy" will be released on November 18th via his own record label, Softdrive Records. The album boasts appearances from No Doubt members Tony Kanal, Adrian Young and Tom Dumont and was co-produced by Doug Grean and Weiland himself.

Lenny Kravitz To Join Velvet Revolver?

Rumours are beginning to run rampant that rock sensation Lenny Kravitz will be named as the new singer for rock supergroup Velvet Revolver, after he was spotted in the studio with the band.

A source has said: "The band wanted a big name who could easily hold his own and reckon Lenny is just the man for the job."

The band have been looking for a new singer since they released their former frontman Scott Weiland in April.
