Rumours are beginning to run rampant that rock sensation Lenny Kravitz will be named as the new singer for rock supergroup Velvet Revolver, after he was spotted in the studio with the band.

A source has said: "The band wanted a big name who could easily hold his own and reckon Lenny is just the man for the job."

The band have been looking for a new singer since they released their former frontman Scott Weiland in April.

I'd perfer one of these singers to be the new singer of Velvet Revolver:

Phil Anselmo (Down and formerly of Pantera)
Sebastian Bach (formerly of Skid Row)
Perry Farrell (Jane's Addiction and Porno for Pyros)
John Bush (Armored Saint and formerly of Anthrax)
Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle and Fantomas)
Page Hamilton (Helmet)
Maynard James Keenan (Tool and A Perfect Circle)
Chris Reifert (formerly of Death and Autopsy)
Kurt Brecht (D.R.I.)
Tony Adolescent (The Adolescents)

That would be killer if Velvet Revolver would choose one of them guys.

I can see Billy Idol working, I can't see how anyone would think Phil Anselmo, Kurt Brecht or Mike Patton would fit. I also think they could do alot worse than Lenny Kravitz.

What about Perry Farrell, Page Hamilton, Chris Reifert and John Bush? You can't see how anyone would think one of them would fit in Velvet Revolver as well?

I can see this happening but I also think that Lenny Kravitz's solo career is too popular for him to make a move like this.

As a fan of Lenny I'm not surprised.Slash has worked with him before & he's actually performed on stage with GnR.The MOMMA SAIDE album in particular. But he's not who I'd have thought they'd get.Yet & still he should be a good fit.The problem is the band is probably gonna change in a big way.On that note let all the pointless racist rambling begin. Before you get started Lenny's half white.

Let's see, I think that Ron Jeremy should be the new Velvet front man, they could change their name to huge f***ing revolver and their new album could be called masterdebator. That would be awesome !!!

BLACKDOG: First of all, as I stated in post 9, this rumor has been debunked (not true) by Kravits. Secondly, you were the first post to bring color into this thread. Why?

Well speaking objectivly (that is that I am not a fan of either Kravits or Velvet Revolver) I think that Kravits would actually fit in well with Velvet Revolver. The fact that its a no go is kinda sad.

Well MOMMA SAIDE is my personal favorite LENNY disc. And SLASH did work on it with him.So maybe another colaboration would be cool even if it's not VR.BODOM the only people compareing Lenny to Jimmy were the early critic's when he first came out.Even Lenny although flatterd admitted there's no real comparison.

That said, I couldn't give half a firetruck what happens to Velvet Revolver. But I dig Lenny, so I'm glad this rumour is nonsense. Maybe he just did a guest appearance on a song for them or something.

I actually hate Velvet Revolver, but I can't explain why. I enjoy Lenny though, so I too am happy this isn't actually happening. (I didn't know he still toured? How old is he by now anyway? I know he isn' that old, but I'm just surprised he's still out there..)
