Newsted Removed From Soundwave Shows, Replaced By Whitechapel

Band Photo: Megadeth (?)
Update: Megadeth's management has now denied the band had anything to do with the cancellation. Read the statement at this location.
The Soundwave Festival has checked in with the following statement about Newsted (featuring former Metallica member Jason Newsted) being removed from two shows at the insistence of Megadeth:
"At the request of Megadeth, Newsted will not be playing the below sidewaves and instead will be replaced by Whitechapel.
"Megadeth + Whitechapel + Volbeat, tickets on sale now!"

its just sh!tstaine's canine mentality...see, big mutt bites little mutt and ruins his absurd existence, so twitchy little mutt yaps a lot, chews his own tail, and tries to bite big mutt's puppies whenever it can
clear enough eh? :)

Here's an alternate opinion...
Considering Newsted and Mustaine have both been on the same sh!tlist of Hetfield and Co., I have my doubts that it has anything to do with Metallica relations.
What if Mustaine (or even people on the business side of Megadeth) was/were just concerned about ticket sales. Newsted's band doesn't have the name recognition that White Chapel has - at least to the main demographics of the Soundwave attendees.
What this also does in a backwards way is give Newsted more publicity and could actually help from a PR standpoint. After all, Newsted is only sitting out two shows in Australia, but the news is worldwide.

the word going around down here in AUstralia is their management is what has done this - not the bands themselves. Makes sense - wouldve been a kickass show with them together, either way I'll be trying to fit them both in(along with about 15 bands i want to watch) at Brisbane Soundwave in a few weeks

^ Understood BG1. Between Dave's often petty actions and the 'business' of Megadeth, they often create a bad reputation that minimizes the postive aspects of the band and stains the music as well.
Sadly ol' Vic Rattlehead's impairments aren't contained to his skull beneath the skin. He had his balls removed somewhere around the Youthanasia album.

nah, you guys are reading too much into it...sh!tstaine's motives only run dog-deep I tell ye ;)
I will, however, wholeheartedly concur that Sh!te Chapel is indeed sh!tty enough to open for the Megadumpers
I pretty much lost interest around Countdown...wasn't Youthanize the next one? ya, well, it pretty well sailed that once valiant ship over the goddamned falls for good

I read an article that's says
"Mustaine had nothing to do with Newsted being added to or taken off the bill. Dave gave the promoters a list of bands he feels comfortable playing with"
That was from loudwire.
I've read a few articles about this promoter kicking bands off and saying he'll never have them on the tour again. Ex: In Flames, Sevendust, Soilwork
