Amon Amarth Announces New Red Wine

Band Photo: Amon Amarth (?)
You can now get your very own Amon Amarth Shiraz red wine, which the band describes as "a must at any classy dinner party or as a gift to the wino friend," and the vikings have further encouraged fans to "Drink irresponsibly!" with.
Ordering info is available over at this location. The question of dozens of Facebook Amon Amarth fans will be repeated here: why wasn't this a mead instead?!?!

This is kind of strange.
I guess you could see this from two different angles. If someone wanted to name a vodka after me I'd be all for it.
Is this a one time thing?
I can see Kiss or Metallica doing this but Amon Amarth???
Who will buy it?
They're not THAT well known. It seems a tad premature to try and turn the band name into a franchise.
Or they're just doing it cause its booze. :)
THAT I have no problem with....except I don't like wine...couldn't they have done vodka...or beer?
Amon Amarth would be a great dark beer name.

Samael did this same thing a few years back (I couldn't get the label to ship me a bottle from Europe for review purposes unfortunately....) and I'm not really sure how or why, but hey, if you want to get wasted while drinking a wine with your favorite band's label on it, why not?

^^^(Face palm)...I can't believe I forgot about the Samael wine.
Hmmm....maybe a European thing?
I'm cool with it as long as it's booze lol.
I can't see a Slayer wine though...maybe whiskey.
I'd but a bottle if they put that cool eagle logo on it. :)
I'm actually rather shocked Metallica HASN'T gone this route yet...or have they and I'm forgetting?
Alcoholica is patented isn't it?
As long as Amon Amarth doesn't do action figures or coffins.........actually a viking coffin might be pretty cool, scratch that one as long as I get a free helmet with it.

Alcoholica---Swill 'Em All...I remember that sh!t from the Olden Times...have no idea if its trademarked or not, but if it were, wouldn't Sh!te-allika likely own it?
As far as the Svenska Vikers wine edition is concerned...the norse of course grow grapes in their homeland, yet they surely learned to appreciate a good Rouge in their wide southerly travels in plunder and trade
I believe a Chicago brewery brewed a brownish ale called Ragnorak in honor of Amon's concert in that city a year or two ago...perhaps that was the incentive for the vino eh?
Who the fvck knows, who the fvck cares...Drink up! Be it wine, mead, ale, or otherwise...CHEERS to ALL ya fvckin METALLERS \m/

wow, this is kind of surprising...i woudl have expected them to endorse a beer, mead, or vodka over red wine...kind of a smart move because chicks like red wine, so maybe its there way of trying to help amon amarth fans get some action from the ladies....as the resident evil jewish conspirator and financial system controller I would recommend that you all start drinking heavily given the state of global stock markets lolz...
More power to the swedish vikings...hope they make some money with this and use it to afford gas to drive to the bottom of florida next time they are in the states.
As a final note, runestones to my memory is one of the most awesome songs in metal and anyone who doesn't like it should have their eyes plucked out by ravens while being sodomized with justin bieber albums.

I would've thought mead, as well. No hot-blooded viking is going to want less than the nectar of the gods.
