Traditionalist metal gods 3 Inches of Blood will release their 5th studio album, "Long Live Heavy Metal," on March 27th via Century Media Records. Keeping true to their core and bringing their forthcoming album title to life, fans can expect a blast of pure metal assured to leave no face un-melted.

"Long Live Heavy Metal is the fifth chapter in the book of 3 Inches of Blood, and we couldn't be more pleased and proud of our new onslaught of Honest Heavy Metal," says guitarist Justin Hagberg. For Long Live Heavy Metal, 3 Inches of Blood reunited with producer and engineer Terry "Sho" Murray (City of Fire, Exhibitionists), who worked with the band on "Anthems for the Victorious."

"When a band is releasing a new record, they often speak about it being their most important work or best album to date. Regardless of how clich├ęd either statement may sound, I think we would say both apply to this album," explains vocalist Cam Pipes. "All of us have a special feeling about this one. We're more committed than ever to the cause of real, honest, no bullshit heavy metal. No trends, no fucking around!"

This band totally lost it after Jamie Hooper was forced to leave the band, that dual vocal assault was awesome!

The guitar player doing the harsh vocals in the background does not cut it at all. I felt their last album suffered because of it and this one likely will too.

Does anyone else think "Long Live Heavy Metal" is kind of a weak sh** album title, def not as cool as "Fire Up The Blades' or "Battlecry Under A Winter Sun".

Yea they went downhill with me after Hooper left. Sucks his chords couldn't hold the strain.

It must be the whiny, hipster-based anthem for people to say "omfg this album won't be as good as the first" before it's even released.

Argument disregarded.

^ ......... Well "Fire Up The Blades" was just my personal favorite. Plus they were a 6 piece when they lost their second vocalist, bassist, and drummer. Then they stayed a 4 piece after that and came out with "Here Waits Thy Doom" which wasn't bad but it was very different then FUTB. So I don't anticipate liking this album anymore then I liked HWTD. IMO their first 3 albums were good.
Oh yea and this is their least likable album title. Simple enough though. Shows you exactly what they're about.

Damn ya can't b**** about anything without someone b****ing about your b****ing lol.

I'm not sure if you guys know but Jamie Hooper is active in another band here in Vancouver, called Congress. They're like a mix of groove/hardcore/thrash/death metal.

If you want you can check out their songs here http://www.myspace.com/congressband

IMO, "Advance & Vanquish" was the best 3 Inches of Blood record but I did enjoy the last one as well. The latest EP though, not so much. I hope the production is better on this new full length.
