Ancestors Reveals New EP "Invisible White" Details

Ancestors has posted the cover artwork online for the band's upcoming EP "Invisible White," which can be viewed after the jump. The band also commented on the EP:

"A lot has happened since our last blog. Namely, we spent about 12 days in the studio recording an EP of brand new tunes, which we're calling Invisible White, which sees a release on June 21st on Tee Pee Records. Although it's technically the follow up to Of Sound Mind, it's very much a departure from what you heard on that album. It's still Ancestors, but it's something new for us and it's something we had wanted to do for a while. It also marks the debut of our newest member Matt Barks on Moog and modular synthesizers.

"With the addition of a new band member, we knew it would be a while before we were able to get the next full length out, so we decided that now was a good time to do a one-off project like this. We went into the studio with rough acoustic skeletons of the songs written and essentially let the songs chart their own course. It was a really different approach for us, as we normally go into the studio knowing exactly what is going to happen.

"Invisible White was masterfully produced and engineered by Kenny Woods at Los Angeles' Bright Street Recorders (Lykee Li, Sia, Grant Lee Phillips) on his 20 channel mixing desk, which was formerly owned by James Brown. As usual, we've got some friends who joined us on the record with us as well.?? The track listing for Ancestors' Invisible White is as follows:

1. Invisible White (7:22)
2. Dust (7:40)
3. Epilogue (14:07)

"In further new music news, we're well on our way to getting into the studio again to record our third LP. We've written four new songs so far that we're going to start playing at upcoming shows. We're hoping to get back into the studio by early fall at the latest, so hopefully you can expect the next full length in the first quarter of 2012.

"As for shows, we've got a few of them coming up with our good friends (and former lockout roomies) Tweak Bird. We're excited to have the brothers back to play a show in LA, as I think it's been about two years since the last time they played in LA. Do yourself a favor if you live in LA and come out to the Bootleg Theater on May 8th (and also check out their new self-titled LP on Volcom Ent). Okay, that's all for now. Hope to see you at one of our shows and we hope you dig the new EP."
