British based power metal outfit Dragonforce has announced that they will be releasing their first live album this year, which will span two discs and contain thirteen tracks. The album is entitled, "Twilight Dementia" and will be released on September 13th through Roadrunner Records in North America and Spinefarm Records in the rest of the world.
Guitarist Herman Li states: "For years, fans have been asking us to record a live album, but honestly, we never really had the time due to our worldwide touring commitments and studio album recording. However, due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from fans on the ‘Ultra Beatdown World Tour’, we decided to finally put some real thought into it...
"The idea was to record every single show from the last leg of the tour, so we could pick the best take of each song without needing to do any overdubs in the studio; keeping the whole thing ‘LIVE’ like all the classic live metal albums.
"These recordings really capture the raw sonic energy of a Dragonforce show in fine detail. It is so real that you can hear the noise of the crowd and experience the show as it was that night – you can even hear the guitar pedals being stepped on!"
The tracklisting for the album is as follows:
Disc 1
"Heroes Of Our Time"
"Operation Ground And Pound"
"Reasons To Live"
"Fury Of The Storm"
"Fields Of Despair"
"Starfire"
"Soldiers Of The Wasteland"
Disc 2
"My Spirit Will Go On"
"Where Dragons Rule"
"The Last Journey Home
"Valley Of The Damned"
"Strike Of The Ninja"
"Through The Fire And Flames"

Seen them 3 times and every time they sucked... Once on the Rockstar fest or whatever it was, they opened the main stage and everyone was dissin them. The lead singer ended up grabbing multiple energy drinks (they were all free I guess) and throwing them onto the croud. Needless to say I got soaked in sticky energy drink and p***ed me off the rest of the day...
I think the whole "they suck live" mentallity is one that's been passed on virally rather than witnessed. Whether you like them or not I couldn't care, to each his own. But to say they can't play what they write live... well I'm pretty sure this will prove that's untrue.

Does anyone else think that this is a bad idea? They aren't known as the best live band around to put it lightly.
