Southern Lord Recordings has issued the following update about Corrosion of Conformity embarking on a mini-tour:
"Southern Lord Recordings is proud to announce a West Coast mini-tour, featuring several SL artists as well as some very special opening and headlining guests. Running from August 8th through 12th, the three-show tour features Southern Lord artists Eagle Twin, Black Breath and the return of Goatsnake. The tour will also showcase openers Righteous Fool featuring Mike and Reed from C.O.C.
"The string of dates kick off in Los Angeles at the Southern Lord sponsored The Power Of The Riff Festival, featuring this tour's full lineup as well as countless other brutal acts including Repulsion, Trap Them, Nails, From Ashes Rise and more. The full lineup and info behind the fest will be announced soon."

Seems strange that Pepper would be obligated to Down but Kirk Windstein can still do Crowbar and Kingdom Of Sorrow, plus Jimmy Bower is doing Eyehategod again, Rex Brown has a new band called Arms Of The Sun and Phil Anselmo is doing a solo album. Maybe they just wanted to go back to the hardcore sound of COC before Pepper was a member.

Oz: "Francihze tag" is a Yank way of saying "I own him" for said length of time as determined by the contract. Kirk and Rex are down for whatever Phil wants to do when he wants to do it. Just One Man's Opinion again... I'm not speaking from known facts, but if I was Phil, that's the way i'd play that hand. Pepper is the only one I wouldn't let freelance.

No Pepper because the are touring the early 'thrash era' material with the original line-up. Pepper didn't join COC until nearly 10 years into their existence. I for one dig both incarnations.. I saw COC on the Deliverance tour and they ruled.. and seeing the original thrash material will be awesome too. I'm glad Pepper isn't trying to sing on the old tunes.. the vocals are so unique and sick on the Animosity material only Mike Dean could pull it off authentically.

Love COC, but why no Pepper?
