I dunno, I liked the album but it wasn't completely capable of grabbing me by the balls like the rest of their discography. Saturday Night Wrist (underrated!) was much better and more well-rounded, overall. They should've added a few more bombastic cuts and gotten rid of the pseudo-trippy ballads towards the end. Because of those oddly placed slower songs, the faster ones are shrouded and the whole album feels like a sludgy drone. In fact, I can recall only two screams from the whole record. On the bright side though, the Meshuggah influences are growing stronger.

yes this was an unfortunately bad move informing everyone it had leaked, as its clear that a lot of people (including myself) were unaware it had leaked before this point. then when this information was posted people just went and downloaded it. admittedly a lot of people would have wanted to hear it before may, myself included, and hopefully fans still get out and buy it to support the band and chi. maybe a more tactful move would have been to push it forward for some other 'undisclosed reason' in which case a sh**load of people wouldnt have been basically informed their new album was available for free

Deftones where/ are numetal....no?
It's unfortunate bands have to suffer during this time of downloading, but it is what it is....only way i see that bands can still profit from their lp's is to comeout with concert footage with their cd's when they are released...and or other types of footage...

I agree with RememberMetal?...most of the music I do purchase are by bands I've been a fan of for a long time, and want the entire album.
The majority of the bands that most of us listen to aren't putting out any platinum albums anyway. They need the album sales.
