Morbid Angel Drummer Pete Sandoval Undergoes Back Surgery
Tampa, Florida based death metallers Morbid Angel have issued the following update about their drummer undergoing back surgery:
"World Management and Morbid Angel would like to let the fans know that rumors about Pedro Sandoval's back surgery are in fact true. Pete has suffered for a long time with a deteriorating disc problem. He was in daily pain and needed to have this done. He has recently been treated by a Laser Back Surgery specialist in Tampa Florida. He is currently in rehabilitation and doing well. Pete is part of our family and the band¹s History and we all wish him well and a full recovery. Unfortunately this type of injury, subsequent surgery and rehab cannot be rushed and it will take ample time for him to hopefully be back behind his drums again and out on tour with Morbid Angel.
"The band is moving forward on their next recording with Tim Yeung. Currently the guys are in rehearsals in Tampa putting their finishing touches on the songs for the New album, which is slated for later this year with subsequent touring world wide."

Nothing against Tim Yeung but I think this is a bad idea. Morbid Angel is Pete Sandoval. They should just wait.
Tim is a Amazing drummer however Pete is the one and only Morbid angel drumming that deserves that throne.
Trey and David are taking a big gamble on this one. If it was my band I'd reconsider!!!! Look what happened to Deicide? Deicide will never be the same again without the Hoffmans. Same thing goes with Suffocation. No Cerrito no Suffocation. Well at least not the same Suffocation.

This is bad news. No offense to the new drummer but morbid angel has waited 7 freakin years to put out a new album and now when "commando" has to be out, they decide to record. I am not happy, and morbid angel is one of my fav bands and Pete Sandoval is a legend. His absence will be totally noticable on this album. And its more of a kick in the balls because David Vincent has been back, and the classic lineup has not recorded since 95. That trio was unstoppable.

Hope he pulls through alright. I'm excited as hell for new Morbid Angel material, though, even if it's Tim Yeung (who's still a great drummer, by the way) instead of Sandoval. Just the fact that David Vincent's back is enough to make my panties wet... erm, if I were a chick, that is.

Pete Sandoval is an ABSOLUTE f***ING BEAST!!!!! He is so f***ing dedicated to his job and after all the sh** he has put his body through I guess that it is no surprise that he had to have a major back surgery. He is one of the best drummers on the planet and he is a f***ing legend!! Hopefully he makes a full recovery and get back with The Almighty Morbid Angel as soon as possible!! Get well Pete!!

Dam that sucks about Pete but they made a hell of a replacement. Tim Yeung is f***in amazing. Listen to the first Hate Eternal album and both Divine Heresy albums and you'll be stunned. STAY METAL MY FRIENDS!
