i picked up this thing in italia 8 or 9 years ago called 'Sure You're Right'....its bootleg and the quality is total sh!t, but its fvcking great....live stuff in euro in 91-92
anselmo says some funny a$$ sh!t on there... "I bet seventy, nah, eighty seven percent of y'all can't understand nothin I'm sayin !....well that's cool, cuz this next one just goes out to all them that has that fvckin energy!!"
If this new one is somehow a unique compilation, I'll check it...but I ain't holding my breath

I'm 100% sure it's the label's doing more than the surviving members' decision (do they actually have any control over the material?), plus do you see Vinnie, Rex and Phil sitting around having a chat about a "Best of" package?
Pantera is in the same boat with Alice In Chains and many others. Every 2 years their ex label puts a new collection on the market, whatever they decide to call it ("The Best of", "Collected", "Live", Rarities" etc)

RTB- if you're a diehard fan go get the original discs and not a greatest hits, because there will be great songs left off of a gh album.
I did have a chance to see 2/3...no original Sepultura for me either. Did see Sepultura in 2000 with Slayer and Sevendust though.

I'm interested to hear the first 3 albums with a remixed/remastered treatment, especially Cowboys from Hell. The natural volume on Cowboys is a little low, so it would be cool to here it on a CD or a record at a volume that's equal with more recent releases. I hope they do the re-releases on vinyl. It sucks it stops before Great Southern Trendkill though, that album rarely gets the credit it deserves imo and any new fans that they may gain from things like this might miss out on Trendkill.

it's funny how a lot of people aren't happy about this whole new greatest hits album.. so what if it's for money.. or whatever you think!
if your a real pantera FAN you would be happy for them..
and maybe the guys won't promote it or whatever, it's still gonna be awesome to go to the store and pick it up..

And I bet Pantera has nothing to do with the "Best Of" album, apart from maybe having the options to throw in few suggestions for the album title.
As for the remixed albums, I'm all for it. Both Cowboys and Vulgar are a bit.... well, let's say that they could sound better
