Shadows fall live are good live not great, otep dont like their new stuff, were decent live in 03,....5fdp......mayhem fest last year during their performance i yawned, their new stuff, musically sounds good but the lead singer gives me a headache and seems to talk alot instead of sing or harmonize and has no melody with his lyrics at times...idk..maybe its me but i dont get him...so to make a short story long, this tour for me.....pazz

I think It is a Co-headliner. Matt Bachand said at Shads show in Atlantic City that they would be doing a Co-headlining tour this fall with another band. I asked them at the merch stand later if they knew if they would be headlining in philly/NJ and they said yeah the headliners were regional with Shads having the last slot on the east coast.

Yep, Five Finger Death Punch is the headliner of the tour. It's pretty obvious by looking at the tour posters (I saw it first on Otep's myspace site)
SF is an older more estabilished band, but as far as popularity goes 5FDP is much bigger than SF, they had like four (?) top 10 hits and have a huge draw. As for who blows away who... we will find out soon I guess, but I saw both bands 3-4 times now and 5FDP is way more intense than SF but who cares this is a good tour. Don't know anything about 2cent but 5FDP, SF and Otep all put on a good show.

This is a co-headlining tour. I checked the venue website for the LA show and it has Shadows Fall listed as main support. I have seen SF 4 times but don;t see myself making ths one. That Otep dude is fvckin' scary and I have never heard of the 5 Fingered Band.

FFDP is deffinatly the headliner, i've seen the tour poster. so i dont even know why this is all about shadows fall cause its FFDP's tour.
It's gonna be mostly new stuff i hope at the shows cause Otep and Shadows Fall are both releasing new albums this month =]
cant wait!

I dunno man, i'v seen FFDP and the singer is boring and doesn't sounds as good live. On the other hand iv seen Brian Fair jump off the stage and Somersault Dropkick some dude in the face that was throwin sh** at the stage from the crowd. Always an intense Shadows Fall show. But all in all almost every band on this tour has an album coming out this fall so as always i can't wait to hear a bunch of new songs i'v never seen performed live.

BlindGreed- What can I say, I never caught that movie or the other one he made..Roadtrip?? I heard he is a metalhead though so his band might be cool. I could have seen them at the Mayhemfest but decided to get drunk instead.
POV- No joke man, that dude could handle his own in the prison yard any day of the week!
Caitlen would you like some sausage?

BlindGreed- Wjat can I I cannot believe that I just discovered the new forum section like two days ago. Little slow at work today, so I managed to finally post in one!
Midnight Cowboy- Funny, for some reason I always had the thought in my mind Brian was vegan hippy or something (never met him or anything). Maybe because he looks a Phish fan, and the positive lyrics, I don't know? The Somersault Dropkick to someone's head story you mentioned makes me think different, although either way I still am a fan of the band.

30. writes:
Bruno - Yeah dude i was as shocked as you, because your original opinion was right, shads are kinda metal hippies. Some of the nicest dude you will ever meet btw, and extremely nice to they're fans. The dude in the crowd totally deserved the kick he got though. He was throwing bottles on the stage and i'm surprised Atlantic City security didn't get to him first.

Caitlen: Bruno is being murdered? I guess I missed that. BTW, members don't have to back off or stfu. We say what we want to who we want whenever we want to; so suck it.
POV: Agreed, although I must admit they were good live, 5 years from now they'll be a distant memeory.
NP: Hourglass - LOG

Caitlen- Listen, I have nothing against chicks in the metal scene, but when you are on the rag don't come here talking sh**. If post 18 was enough to set you off, you have a long painful life ahead of you. I know it is toughing being a teenager and all, but try and control those hormones!
BlindGreed- Cheers to you brother (at 8 AM no less) /m\
49. writes:
Blindgreed - Thank you and from what i understand, the tour is Down and The Melvins.
agiyrbgir - FFDP is PURE THRASH METAL?!? ohhhhh maaaaaaaaan. all this time iv been such a poser listening to Slayer and Kreator thinking that was pure thrash metal. wow FFDP must be for real...
The stereotypical metalcore formula (scream verse, sing chorus, shake, and repeat) IS the FFDP formula. sorry to break the news to ya kid.

MidnightCowboy- Unfortunately I have becoming extremely jaded lately when it comes to new bands and have pretty much stopped looking for new ones and instead I am just filling in the old back catalog of bands that I have loved for years. The only "new" band I have found that I like is Baroness, but I will be getting to the Down show early to catch Weedeater (borrowing the cd from friend after work).

Bruno/TMC: You guys are lucky to be able to catch that show.
Knucklehead: Each is entitled to their own opinion, I agree, but I think you missed POV's point. It's not the last five years he was talking about. He said five years from now. I will agree that they are a great band live. They whip the crowd up and you walk away with a feeling as though you got your money's worth when you leave their shows. I believe POV's reference was to the strength of their material. Their current releases, are not strong enough to stand on their own avove the crowd. That would lead one to believe that their upcomming releases will be along the same lines. Unless they break the mold and release a stellar album (like for instance Mastodon's latest release Crack the Skye), they will dissappear as POV has predicted. I'm not saying they don't have it in them, I'm just saying it's not likely.

"Jealous of the fact you know we're right."
That is an incredibly lame argument. How old are you? I'm guessing probably older than I am, but still a lot less mature mentally. If you wanna like FFDP, go for it. I don't give a sh**. But I still think they suck, and will not last in the long run, as Shadows Fall has. Were it not for the early 2000's "New Wave of American Metal" bands such as Shadows Fall making metal popular again, FFDP would not even exist.
"Believe me, you'll be the one with the tough life ahead."
What does that even have to do with anything? I'm not even gonna bother defending myself on this one. Again, you suck at making a good argument, instead you result to childish personal insults.

Hey mother fvckers, I'm glad I didn't miss this sh1t.
FFDP can actually lick the sh1t from my boots along with the metalcore scene. Who actually comes up with these sh1tty-ass names? Five Finger Death Punch? More like Five Fvcking Douche p***ies. POV hit the nail on the head with every one of his posts, especially 39# - as soon as the little emo douchebags find their next whiny p***y leader to worship these guys will just be another unscooped pile of sh1t on the sidewalk.
Emo Love - I swear I seen that name trolling around a few weeks ago, how the fvck did an emo actually get onto this site without evaporating or some sh1t?
\m/ Amon Amarth - Free Will Sacrifice \m/

You guys no nothing of rock and metal. Five Finger is f***ing raw, hardcore, and amazing live. Shadows Fall is a pretty good band, but no where near that of 5fdp. I'm disappointed in this tour though, OTEP f***in sucks. I've had to sit through their shows twice, don't really want to listen to them again. This tour will be all about the fist.
