Stryper Reveals New Album Title and Track Listing

Christian hard rock act Stryper has revealed that their new album will be titled "Murder by Pride." Stryper front man Michael Sweet issued the following statement about the album:

“After years of speaking to fans and hearing comments like “more guitars”, “more solos” and “more screams”, I decided to keep those comments in mind as I wrote each song. It was important to me to try to get back to that early sound of Stryper yet at the same time, to remain relevant today. It’s certainly not an easy thing to do but as I listen to “Murder By Pride”, I think that was accomplished.

I got the idea of the title “Murder By Pride” from seeing pride consume dreams, goals and many times, lives. We all deal with pride and it can be crippling, so I wanted to write a lyric and a theme that would be a constant reminder of that. This record has been in the works for a long, long time and I can only hope that it was worth the wait!”

The album's track listing is as follows:

1. Eclipse Of The Son
2. 4 Leaf Clover
3. Peace Of Mind
4. Alive
5. The Plan
6. Murder By Pride
7. I Believe
8. Run In You
9. Love Is Why
10. Mercy Over Blame
11. Everything
12. My Love

Nothing wrong with Stryper, they put on a damn good show, and what he did to help the band Boston was pretty cool after the singer took his life. Boston was a good band back in its day. I realize these comments may not be totally metal according to some, but tough sh**, its better then all that emo crap thats out.

Lots of hair metal bands are still out there playing. Just not with as much press as they used to get. I've cought a few bands from back in the day at Harley Fest at Freedom Hill in Detroit. Always had a good time.

They were scheduled to co-headline a festival together a couple of years back. I think it was in Mexico. If I remember rightly, Slayer pulled out.

STRYPER are an great hard Rockin' band w/much grit & Spirit and Heart. I've been a fan of quite awhile and find them very driven, respectful & bold in their music & Christian life. They always given their fans & listerning audience a heavy Hard Rockin' power deliverance through their powerful music since the mid 80's and still are going strong: I look forward to Micheal Sweet & his band STRYPER newest album "Murder by Pride" great title, I agree we earthlings no matter what faith we apart of can get caught up in being too "boastful & arrogant" at times and that's not healthy. The "Reborn" Stryper album was awesome & did have some mighty hefty riffs & harmony in that album & hope that Stryper's "Murder by Pride" will continue in that light. Peace & Godbless the legendary Hard Rocker's STRYPER.

Finally - some news of interest !!! Very anxious to hear new music from this classic christian metal band. As for comment *21 - the concept was already proposed ''Heaven and Hell'' tour back in the late '80's i believe combining Stryper with Motley Crue. Next to Maiden and Judas Priest - Stryper's music ruled the '80's !!!
