As previously announced, Slipknot will be making a headlining run across North America early next year with Trivium and Coheed and Cambria in tow.

Haha indeed. I tried to set up an avatar a good while ago but gravatar never sent an email back. So I decided to try again and the f***in ting arrived in like a second. Il probly be changing it a fair bit when I take the notion.
Well sucks for you blind. They were really on form in december. His voice was fine the whole show. And joey - sh** on a stick, but whatever you say about clown as a person, he is one bad a$$ welder - joey's kit scissoring up, spinning then tipping perpendicular to the stage, while he's still playing was a spectacle and a half.

For those who have never been, this festival took place about 40 minutes from my house in Germany. It is a huge deal with all kinds of music. You have everything from scathing metal to hip-hop, alternative(what a dumbass sub-genre), pop, and whatever else you can think of.

Irish: What really gets me is that i'd heard all of the other metal heads talking about how "sic" their live show was and allthough spinning drum kits are cool and all, I believe the band members need to move around and get behind the music. This wasn't the case with Slipknot. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I paid my $$$ to see them and I got ripped off.

Must have been sh** man, but as I said they really were on form when I saw them, although I suppose since Corey's voice didn't blow out that would have been a huge help. Who was supporting them? Since I guess that was be the deciding factor for you going to the show.
Best part was when they did spit it out. You know how they sometimes do the "jump the f***" up bit live - well they did it for us, and almost all the emo fa**ots had no clue what was happening and were all pulled down.

Blindgreed -- Every time I've seen Slipknot live (it's been a few years), they've always put on a fantastic show. I don't think I've ever been disappointed seeing them live.. especially with opening bands like Slayer, Fear Factory, Chimaira, etc. Sucks though that you didn't get to experience a good show with them.

I agree - Slipknot is bada$$ LIVE - although I have my own problems with Corey Taylor. Joey's spinning drum kit is always cool to watch. I have sent it twice now, and I will probably see them again in February. I don't think it will have the same impact, though, because, like I said, this will be my 3rd time to see them. So, just out of curiousity, BG1, how does Slipknot's act compare to Mushroomhead? Mushroomhead is better, in my opinion...I just don't want to start arguments..lol.

Tx: I was deliberately avoiding that conversation. Mushroomhead have always put on one hell of a show evrytime i've seen them (it's been 8 times now). I don't think you can really compare the two unless your comparing the masks. Their music is definately different and my personal preference is Mushroomhead because they've never left me feeling as though I got ripped off and because Jeffrey Nothing actually has melodic tones in his singing style where in comparison Corey has very little if any. The only thing that made the show worth it for me was Mastadon, Machine FVCKING Head, and laughing at the disney metal of Dragonforce.

I had alot of fun laughing at the very few people who were standing up and rocking out to dragonforce
when i saw slipknot, corey's voice started to crack a little midway through the set but it was still good... people=sh** was awesome. I was dissapointed though that they didnt play spit it out, wait and bleed, or left behind

Yeah Mastodon and Machine Head are bada$$ live. I got my friends into Mastodon, and they love them now. Thanks for the explanation..yeah..I didn't want to open a can of worms, or maggotts in this case..haha
I completely agree with you - Mushroomhead over those clowns...haha

Phew, thank god they are rounding them all up in one show so I can be sure they won't pollute any others for a while. I'm so tired of all 3 of these bands. Seem like all of their latest offerings are the most run generic in quality and musicianship.

Not a huge fan of the bands playing, but that being said I have seen most of them more then once and Slipknot most definitely always puts on a great stage performance. Last time I saw them they called the whole crowd to run down to the floor. Obviously 20k people arent going to fit but I wish I could of gotten a birds eye view because I am pretty sure everyone managed to cram atleast to the lower sections. It was nuts. I will definitely hit this up if it comes near me.

I would like to see Slipknot live, but as far as the whole "jump" thing, I find it a bit pretentious. I pay money for "you" to do the work. I have a boss at my job, I don't need one at a concert. Plus, what about us old guys who just don't feel like doing that crap? I'm 32 and I don't want to be lumped in with a bunch of pimply-faced, testosterone fueled 10th graders. It's a bit degrading.
