Chimaira Reveals New Album Title as "The Infection" and Sets Release Date

Band Photo: Chimaira (?)
Chimaira has posted a crypyic message on their website that can only be taken as the new album title and release date. Presumably then, the followup to the band's previous album, "Resurrection," will be titled "The Infection" and is set for an April 21, 2009 release.
Chimaira should be nearly done recording their new album. They entered the studio back in October with Ben Schigel at the helm, to begin (then pre-production) recording the new album.

aaaaaah track 6 red, indeed, fantasmo. and Dave, yeah the flame is pretty great, but seeing them live u get such a respect for salvation and black heart, while the guitarist was doing the back up vocals he looked straight at me and pointed, it was pretty great. So i did what any self respecting metal enthusiast would do and smacked every a$$ hole around me in the face and started crowd surfing.....god i love thsi genre

Chimaira are so metalcore it's rediculous. just because they dont sound generic, and are actually good, doesnt mean that they still dont exist within the genre.
I ask you, at the very least, if Chimaira arent metalcore, then what do you consider them? If you say death metal, i hope someone spits in your food, cause they sure as hell arent that.

yeah, i dont no if i would call them metal core, death metal ABSOLUTELY NOT. i'd say there the c*** rock of the emtal world. kind of there, kind of rockin out, but not hard enough in any direction to score one category or another. i think i'll jsut call them metal. in fact, f*** it!!! from now on im not labeling metal by any other name. metal is metal. f***in there we go
