Guns N Roses has finally released their eagerly awaited new album, "Chinese Democracy," to the world. However, for fans in China, they will have to go underground for the album as the Chinese government has deemed the album inappropriate for the public. While Im not really a GnR fan, it breaks my heart that people are denied one of the best things about being alive. Music. It's stuff like this that makes me realize how good we have it. Imagine not being able to walk down the street and pick up an album. Blows my mind.

^you have to keep in mind though, there are over a billion people over there, almost 2 billion now.
if just one percent of that population wanted to leave, that means over 1 million people. Only 100 thousand get out, then holy sh**.
On another, related note, chthonic sucks live.

f***_A_Name: Maybe you saw them on a bad night. Chthonic did great when they played with Nile last year at Jaxx! And their bassist is not only cute, but me and her actually talked deeply about music (mainly Black Metal) and the inspirations from our lives.
About the situation: Not surprised. China, regardless of what forms of Capitalism they accept (exploiting workers for big corporation outsourcing), they're still communist.

Haha,i think that is normal,i had bought the foreign bands' albums from the underground market many years ago when i become a metal-head.
All of their cds were given to my friends who like gnr as a present.
As a metal guy,i think gnr's music is sh**,one reason is that is not full of agression and voilence, and an important reason is these guys' lifestyle is sick, make me feel bad!

Axl's ex-bandmates call him a dictator. I would be very offended if a dictator tells me about having a democracy! The Chinese rock fans who are into GnR already have the album well before it hit the Best Buy shelves; you can just buy em for a buck and a half on the streets of Xinjiekou and Liulichang, and with the original cover art too. The Chinese government "bans" are just formalities.
BTW: The Chinese Communist Party has won, inspite of all the dirt and massive propaganda campaign thrown up against them this year; see for yourself: goto Youtube mainpage, and search the keywords chinese + democracy, and look for the the video titled something to the effect of "Chinese Democracy Guns N Roses Live Version By Chinese Guys & Gals Rocking The UK & USA!". It a popular video, and should show up right on the first page of the search.

Y'know the album would sound half-good if there wasnt 200 tracks of modern hip-popish ambient noise crapola in there. Its not OLDSKOOL enough. All the guitar players don't overplay at all and try their best to keep it tasteful and song-orientated. But 90% of the drawcard for the masses is Axl's voice. Bummer haha.
