The Ottoman Empire Changes Name to Luna Mortis
Wisconsin based female fronted metal band, The Ottoman Empire, have issued the following update regarding their decision to change their name to Luna Mortis:
"Well, I'm sure you've all noticed, that we've undergone a name change! We have changed our name from 'The Ottoman Empire' to 'Luna Mortis.'"
"To keep a very long story short, we had a number of reasons to make the change and they are quite honestly, too many to list. Ultimately, it was a long, hard decision but a change we all felt was necessary to make."
"The most important thing is that our lineup and our music have NOT changed, and will not change so we promise to keep the metal coming!"
"We hope that you will all enjoy some of the new photos we had taken by photographer Joel Schlauer (who also did the 2008 "Girls of Metal" calendar!)."
"In honor of our name change announcement, we have also posted a new song that we recorded this past February in Florida at Audiohammer studios, with the one and only, Jason Suecof (Trivium, Devildriver, Chimaira, All That Remains...). "
"We are so happy to have such wonderful and amazing fans and we are going to keep putting out the kick as METAL tunes that you love...as I said previously in the blog, our lineup and sound have NOT changed and we are still going to play all of our music from our days as "The Ottoman Empire" as well as brand new music!"
"Thank you all for your support and let us know what you think of everything! "
