Chrome Division to Release New Album in July

Band Photo: Dimmu Borgir (?)
Norway's Chrome Division, featuring Dimmu Borgir's Shagrath on guitars, has announced on their MySpace that their new album, entitled "Booze, Broads and Beelzebub," will be released on July 18th 2008. We are really looking forward to this release, and you should too, cause this one kicks some serious ass. The album was recorded at Studio Fredmann and the band guarantees "a much better sounding album than the first one."

I love humor in metal, as long as it's done well and is not a cheesy, over the top attempt. For example, I love Beatallica and a number of spoof bands. And bands who can pull off crazy sh** and make it work like SOAD (their uniqueness is funny to me and I don't take them seriously as all). Real heavy metal should probably be more serious though, but I don't get hung up on it - if it works, it's cool.
^^Fair point. Yeah, I guess, come to think of it, I mean the cheesy, over the top stuff. While SOAD's music can be crazy enough to be funny, they aren't really trying to be funny (I don't think?), so they're not really 'humour-metal' or whatever for me. And Beatallica actually aren't all that bad. But yeah, the bands that put together music solely meant to be funny, and whose sense of humour is way off the mark, that I really can't stand.
I like Tenacious D, they're not metal, so I have no problem with them cracking jokes. Same thing with rap, I mainly listen to it because it's funny. Haven't heard the second Tenacious album yet though. Or seen the movie. Seemed like a money-grabbing gimmick, you know?
