So I'm going to go out on a limb and say 2007 might be a "big name" metal year to remember...
Dark Tranq turned in a winner and the new Dimmu and Megadeth were stronger than expected.
I have high hopes for the new Behemoth, PIg Destroyer, Meshuggah, Dillinger Escape Plan and Opeth.....Crossing my fingers for the new Down and Metallica.
Now Playing: Mumakil - II

Alright, I listen to an album in its entirety to get a feel of the album...I'm posting as I listen to the song
01. Rome 64 C.E---AWESOME INTRO! Women chanting and then it suddenly takes you by force! I can tell just from the intro this is gonna have the same chemistry as with DEMIGOD!
02. Slaying The Prophets Ov Isa---Inferno has outdone himself in this track in the beginning. Its a great balance of brutality with black epic themes! Lovely solo at the end!
03. Prometherion---Nergal really challenges himself with the chords in this one, he used a technique that Karl Sanders of Nile used to play a track called either 'Burning Pits of the Duat' or 'Chapter of Obeisance Before Giving Breath to the Inert One in the Presence of the Cresent Shaped Horns' from the album 'Annihilation of the Wicked'. I love the melody in this one! Again melodic, yet brutal.
04. At The Left Hand Ov God---Lovely intro, and then again takes you by force. Its like a roller coaster that doesn't look so bad at first, then you realize that as you roll along the track, it just suddenly drops almost at a 90 degree angle and you're realizing 'This sh** is BADASS!'. Once again, melodic + brutal + Black. Awesome solo, and its a style that can only be done by Behemoth.
05. Kriegsphilosophie---Track barely starts and its already just brutal, makes you wanna thrash around from start to finish, this is a true mosh song. Once again, an awesome solo by Nergal, and it rings to an end
06. Be Without Fear---Brutal and Dark, another really moshworthy song. Another realy awesome solo, sounds almost Vader/Slayer inspired, but the style is definitely recognizable as Nergal's.
07. Arcane Hereticae---Solo that is to kill for! Nice beat to it, and goes with the Dark epic atmosphere...
08. Libertheme---The intro lets me know this is gonna be one of my favorites! Almost hypnotic instrumental intro, same melody repeating, and grows brutal. I love the soloing he does in this one!
09. Inner Sanctum---Oh sh**! I love this one! The piano starts it off, and its so dark and sh**, but then as the piano continues, the song goes on spiralling down into Brutal Black again! I am in love with this song so far as this album goes! I always loved songs that combined Dark Classical themes with Brutal Metal Melodies. And this is one of them. And there's this awesome acoustic solo played in it, and it just adds to the awesomeness of the album itself! This solo has to be THE BEST ON THIS ALBUM! This by far is my favorite song on the album!
10. Pazuzu---Awesome song period, epic intro but brutal epic (Yes, I'm kinda using the same words over and over again). Okay! This one has to be the best and most moshworthy song on here! Its fast, its Black, its grim, yet brutal! Orion's bass skill adds to the Brutality. Awesome track all over.
11. Christgrinding Avenue---Of course this is the one they played live at club JAXX when I saw them, I knew this definitely wasn't the best track on there, but it still was pretty awesome to hear live. Now, on the album, fast, brutal, deadly soloing by Nergal. Scratch what I said about Pazuzu, this is the most moshworthy track on the album! Once again, hypnotic melody, and the drumming by Inferno is insane, but the thing about Inferno's drumming is that its insane, yet well controlled, his style is like the madman who can keep his composure while being violent! The track ends the album as the song fades and the last thing you hear is the same woman's chanting that started the first track ending the last track...Its the best ending to the best beginning.
All in all the best tracks are:
02. Slaying The Prophets Ov Isa
03. Prometherion
04. At The Left Hand Ov God
07. Arcane Hereticae
09. Inner Sanctum
10. Pazuzu
11. Christgrinding Avenue
Then again, I'm a Behemoth fan, so of course I'll think the whole album is the best thing EVER. But trying to be impartial [and failing], its a great album, get it! Lock up your daughters and hide the liquor! You've been warned! Behemoth obviously is far from fading! They're just getting started fvckers! HORNS FVCKING UP!

I like my death death and my black black. I have Demigod but can't say I've really been into it, which I've always found pretty strange as people talk up Behemoth everywhere I go. Also strange because I worship bands like Cryptopsy and Nile. I think Behemoth just have more of a straight forward songwriting/rythmic sense which I'm not really into. All luck to them though, metal as f*** (which is more than I can say about 90% of the other 'metal' bands people laud these days).
Now Playing: Celtic Frost - "Eternal Summer"
