Band Photo: Avenged Sevenfold (?)
MTV.com reports: Two weeks after joining the surviving members of Alice in Chains onstage at a tribute to Heart for VH1 Classic's "Decades Rock Live!," Phil Anselmo hooked up with Alice guitarist Jerry Cantrell, Avenged Sevenfold drummer the Rev and cover band Metal Skool to perform Pantera's "Walk" Monday night at Hollywood's Key Club. Cantrell also joined the band for Alice's "Man in the Box."

Phil should stay with Superjoint Ritual. I think Scooter Ward from Cold would be a nice fit in AIC...but that's not happening. Whatever they decide to do, I just wish they wouldn't call it Alice in Chains...It's like calling Audioslave Rage Against The Machine...It wouldn't be the same.

Phil Anselmo: Vocals
Jerry Cantrell: Guitar and vocals
Rex Brown or Mike Inez: Bass
Vinnie Paul: Drums
It'll never happen (too much bad blood) but noone can tell me that it wouldnt be one of the best sounding things EVER....It wouldn't be Pantera or Alice but it would be pretty impressive.....

because Jerry Cantrell isn't as legend as Dime, i would figure... considering that the line-up suggested by RM? is pretty much a Dime-less Pantera, i think chaosphere made a point. i gotta agree though, Jerry Cantrell would fill a lot more of Dime's void than most guitarists could ever dream to.

My little dream line up in post 11 is just that a dream...
Cantrell could never REPLACE Dime......thats proposterous......That band certainly wouldnt carry the Pantera namesake...
But Cantrell would bring a nice dynamic guitar sound (and pretty good vocals...trading lead and harmonies with Phil)....I would like it anyway.
Listening to Great Southern Trendkil at this moment....Ages like fine wine.

I know AIC is looking for a new singer...and although I think Anslemo is a great vocalist...I can't think that he is the one they will eventually go with. They sure have been hanging out together a lot lately though. My vote still goes to Pat Lachman...he was great during that Seattle show...although that's probably not likely because he has a new project going. We'll wait and see.
