"This just in - We have just received our 'drop letter' from Metal Blade. If you didn't know, we were on Metal Blade.

Bison B.C. Posts New Song "Clopazine Dream"

Bison B.C. has teamed up with Revolver to stream the new song "Clopazine Dream" online, which can be heard right here.

The track comes off new album "Lovelessness," due for release on October 22nd through Metal Blade Records. The following press release was issued about the album:

"In the great Canadian spirit of loss and heart ache, the downer foursome known as Bison B.C. have managed to scourge their rotting brains desperately puking out new psalms of suffering. Akin to a lunatic writing their opus on the bedroom wall with their own shit comes this strange noise from the west coast melting pot of shit and failure; in a country based on terrifying distance and lonesome, stoic suffering. Lovelessness does not portray the death of love or the lack of the same. Rather it attempts to map out the pathetic and desperate pursuit of love, which in itself becomes violent like a cancer, an assault on anything that is good in the world. A heartfelt repulsion towards anything that could bring pleasure, because with happiness we suffer truly - the wanting of more. Gluttons! Pigs to the trough! Lead us to treachery! Lead us to solitude! More...

Bison B.C. Recording New Album

Vancouver, Canada's Bison B.C. will be embarking on a short tour of western Canada at the end of June and beginning of July. The tour follows plans to record a third album for Metal Blade Records, with recording officially beginning last week with acclaimed producer Sanford Parker at Soma and Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago.

Vocalist/guitarist James Farwell discusses the process thus far: "After slaving over these songs since last summer we have finally set up a hobo camp in Chicago to record with Sanford Parker. First at Electrical Audio then to Soma. Feels good to be away from home to make this record; new environment, new places to drink, it's good for us. It's also exciting because this will be our first recording with our newest idiot, Matt Wood, playing drums. Special thanks to Matt for topping up our idiocy."

What does Matt think of all this? "In keeping with my idiot life it seemed very natural to join these other idiots, and make a mother fucker of a record."

Catch Matt Wood, James Farwell, Dan And, and Masa Anzai at the shows listed below after they emerge from the studio.

06/29 Fernie, BC The Northern
06/30 Calgary, BC Republik
07/01 Edmonton, AB Pawn Shop (Canada day show!)

Bands React To Tragedy In Norway

News has been circulating since yesterday of a terrorist attack in Norway on a youth camp along with a bombing, which has left at least 80 people dead. News reports have identified Anders Behring Breivik as the police's main suspect, and have cited his extreme right wing Christian views as a possible motivation for the attacks.

Several bands have since reacted to the news, with Bison B.C. stating:

"Our thoughts go out to our Norwegian brothers and sisters and to their friends and families. We hope you are all safe and well. Our condolences to those affected by the senseless actions. Glad to hear that our old tour mates and friends in Kvelertak where not in Olso when the attacks occurred. XOXO."

Defect Designer also added, "Words 'Norway' and 'Terrorism'... we did not think they can be used in same sentence. As we live in Russia, we understand you.. Hold on..."

Eternal Gray stated via a Facebook post, "To all our friends in Norway, we are sorry for your loss. Sometimes it's just so hard to believe this beast came from within us, human-kind. Inconceivable. Be strong, we send you our condolences."

Norwegian act Leprous added, "We would like to express our deepest sympathy with everyone involved in yesterdays shocking events in our hometown, Oslo. This is a day for unity, compassion and grief."

Arch Enemy's Facebook page included the following status update: "Watching the news with heavy hearts. Our thoughts are with our brothers and sisters in Norway. What a horrifying attack. It is hard to believe what happened :-("

An update from Iced Earth also stated, "Our hearts go out to the people of Norway. The loss of life is horrific, nearly too much to contemplate. (After killing seven people in a bomb blast, a lone gunman killed over 80 people, some as young as 16, in a summer youth camp.) Please join us in sending prayers, positive thoughts, and sincere condolences to the friends and family members affected by this tragedy."

Enslaved commented: "Our deepest condolences and thoughts go out to everybody touched by the fathomless tragedy that struck Norway yesterday. This is indeed a day for afterthought."

Bison B.C. Announces New Drummer

Vancouver, Canada heavy metal act Bison b.c. has announced that Matt Wood (Haggatha, ex-3 Inches of Blood, ex-Pride Tiger) has joined the band as its new drummer. Bison guitarist/vocalist James Farwell commented on the addition by saying;

"A couple months back Brad [Mackinnon, former drummer] told us he had made the difficult decision to leave the band. We lived and breathed music together for almost five years and it was a fucking honor to share the stage and create music with him, not to mention doing all kinds of fucked up shit that was fucking way fun. It was a hard decision for him, and we wish him all the best, and hey, we still go and get wasted together.

"Enter Matt Wood. Masa and Matt used to play in a band called Goatsblood way back in the day, he also totally slays in a couple of local bands – Congress and haggatha – so we invite him to come jam with us, purely out of pity. Turns out he’s pretty good for a drunk just shy of fifty. So, on behalf of Bison bc inc., we would like to welcome to the band, our new drummer, Mr. Matt Wood" More...

Bison B.C. Detained At The U.S. Border

Guitarist/vocalist James Farwell of Vancouver, Canada heavy metal act Bison B.C. has posted the following statement online in regards to the band being refused entry into the United States to play a special one-off show with Eyehategod in Seattle:

"Due to our vicious plot to undermine the American economy and to destroy the citizens of the United States of America's belief in freedom and baseball or whatever, we weren't allowed to cross that fascinating imaginary line. More likely due to a fucking clerical error somewhere in Corporate America, the fine people at Homeland Security had no choice but to keep Americans secure from us dirty fucking Canadians. But fear not my fellow poser Canadians, we will get our fucking paper work in order soon enough and be down destroying things before you can say, 'Does Celine Dion shit in the fucking woods?!,' and yes indeed she does. Peace on Earth."

In related news, Bison B.C. is currently in the studio penning the follow-up to the band's critically acclaimed "Dark Ages" full-length. Further details are expected to be revealed soon. "Dark Ages" was released in 2010 through Metal Blade Records.

Bison B.C. Returns To B.C.

In an extremely short amount of time Vancouver, Canada's Bison B.C. have gone from local bar hoping metallers to international headline touring act. With three full length albums released and countless tours throughout North America and Europe Bison B.C. have become an unstoppable force, notorious for its intense live performances. Fresh off an extensive European tour the band returned to its home city of Vancouver to treat its loyal hometown fan-base to undoubtedly one of the city's most destructive concerts it has seen in years.

Having its welcome back show take place at the severely under-rated Biltmore Cabaret meant that the show would be a definite sell out, which it was was well before the doors were to even open. People of all different backgrounds were in attendance; from patch vest metalheads to flannel engulfed hipsters and everyone in between but while the crowd was diverse they all came for one thing, to watch Bison destroy everything in its path. But more about that later. Unfortunately, due to some issues not in my control, I was forced to sit out on the opening act Purple Rhinestone Eagle. I was told they were a female fronted power rock act that kicked out some decent and heavy tunes. That's all I can pretty much say as far as they are concerned. More...
