Megadeth's "Dystopia" Plugged By Bill O'Reilly
We knew it wouldn't be long before Dave Mustaine was back in the news over Phil Anselmo. This time it's not for saying anything particularly outrageous, but rather for getting a mention on "The O’Reilly Factor" (although for some, that's not much different - but look on the bright side, at least it's not Alex Jones this time).
Turns out in a massive string of tweets Dave had going with fans over the last few days, he mentioned buying all of O'Reilly's books and then asked Bill to buy Megadeth's new album "Dystopia."
Somehow this actually got back to O'Reilly, who then gave a shoutout on his show, commenting "I'm an R&B guy, not really into hard rock, but I'll keep an open mind on these things."
Both the tweet that started it all and the segment on TV can be seen below. More...

Dave Mustaine Slams Fired Guitar Tech
It's that time again - having been awhile since Megadave put his foot in his mouth, now he's released a video online discussing why he fired a guitar tech after problems at last night's show in Brisbane (Australia).
The clip, available below, showcases Dave's sterling personality explaining how the tech was a "total waste of skin and life" although in his defense at least this time Dave's rage was focused on giving the fans the best show possible, and not on some political or religious bullshit.
He apologizes to the fans attending the show, stating they "deserve way better than this jerkoff did tonight" and goes on to further the slam the tech stating "But you know what the funny thing is? He has to live with himself. And as of like right now, I'll never see his stupid fucking ass again."
So did anybody catch the show and see what the problem was that got Dave so irate? Let us know what went down in the comments below.

Heavy Metal Video Games: The Return Of Music Games
With the king of music games about to make a triumphant return in less than two weeks, it seemed like a good time to take another look at the limited offerings available where video games collide with heavy metal.

Part 2: Splatterhouse, Twisted Metal 2, The Witcher's bonus music disc, and Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost And The Damned.
Part 3 (the retro edition!): Rock And Roll Racing, Beavis And Butthead, F-Zero X, Earthbound, and Heavy Metal Geomatrix
Rock Band
There was this utterly glorious time where console gaming was flush with a stable lineup of music games and every weekend involved a bottle of something hard and your best friends making drunken fools of themselves in your living room till 2 AM. Typically your neighbors would not be amused, but fuck them because they don't like metal anyway.
Unfortunately that time died when Activision decided to flood the market with an absurd number of Guitar Hero entries and the era of the music game came to a sudden, crashing halt.
Obviously the Rock Band titles had plenty of rock tunes, but a handful of legitimate metal was also involved in the various incarnations and weekly DLC updates, adding in the likes of Emperor, Machine Head, and a whole lot more. Where things really took off was in the Rock Band Network, which let bands make their own tracks, seeing tons of underground groups add in their own music.
It was a truly sad day when Harmonix announced there would be no more DLC coming to Rock Band back in 2013, but an unexpected light at the end of the tunnel appeared just a few months ago. Back in March, Harmonix made a whole lot of fans happy by officially announcing Rock Band 4, which seemed like nothing more than a pipe dream up till that point.
Due out October 6, Rock Band 4's launch lineup of metal will include Dream Theater, Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, Baby Metal, System Of A Down, and more, with loads of metallic downloadable songs no doubt prepped and ready to drop each week.
Needless to say I'm greatly looking forward to it, except that unfortunately Guitar Hero is also returning. Maybe Activision can keep it in its pants this time around and not kill music gaming again by releasing six or so games a year.

Chris Broderick Discusses Leaving Megadeth
In a new interview with Guitar World, Chris Broderick discusses leaving Megadeth behind (along with Shawn Drover) and forming new band Act of Defiance. Excerpts from the interview follow.
GW: Was there a dress code in Megadeth?
There definitely was a dress code that he wanted to maintain for a Megadeth look. For me, with everything in this camp, I saw very early on that Dave is the owner of the company and he is the one that has the right to say how the company is presented and how it should look. The only time we had any issues was when I didn’t know a specific thing about how he wanted my appearance to be, and then I would find out as we went along. I saw it very early on as a job requirement and I felt that if the job is worth it to me then I would make those changes.
GW: Had you considered leaving the band in the past?
I was constantly weighing the positives against the negatives. I likened it to a lawyer that’s working for a firm and finally wants to break out and start his own firm or a chef that wants to open up his own restaurant. You have to deal with the corporate mannerisms from the company you’re working for. And once it gets to a point where you feel like you would be happier on your own, that’s when you finally to cut the cord. I had been thinking about what to do for a long time, but up until I decided to leave, I always felt the positives outweighed the negatives.
GW: When did that balance tip?
Not until the last quarter of 2014. I was dwelling on my lack of musical creativity in the band. Dave was getting ready to go in and do another CD and my heart just wasn’t in it because I knew I wasn’t going to have any artistic say in the definition of the album and the music. He was calling saying, “Hey, I want to get you guys down there.” The last thing I wanted to do was go down there and work on a partial CD and then say, “Hey, this isn’t for me.” It was just the right time to leave.
Act Of Defiance's debut full-length album "Birth and The Burial" is set for an August 21st release via Metal Blade Records.
Megadeth meanwhile has continued on with Kiko Louriero (Angra) on guitars and guest drummer Chris Adler and will soon reveal full details on a new album to follow "Super Collider." More...

Megadeth has a new album on the horizon, which front man Dave Mustaine recently stated would be much more aggressive than "Super Collider."
Former members Broderick and Drover meanwhile formed new outfit Act of Defiance and will drop an album August 21st. Check out a music video off that upcoming release right here.
Dave Mustaine: "The Music Is Really Aggressive"
In an interview with GuitarWorld.com, Megadeth's Dave Mustaine states the sound of the new album will be a dramatic shift from "Super Collider."
Mustaine comments: “I think a lot of people are gonna be happy, because the music is really aggressive again."
He also goes on to say, “I compiled stuff from things I laid down over a lot of years, on cassettes, microcassettes, even going back to floppy disc. I put all of it onto a hard drive, and it came out to more than 200 song ideas and riffs. Which is a pretty overwhelming number. We got that down to 13 songs.”
According to the article, three song titles to appear on album #15 are “The Emperor Has No Clothes,” “Tyranocide,” and “Poisonous Shadows.”
This upcoming album follows the departure of Shawn Drover and Chris Broderick and the recruitment of new member Kiko Louriero.

Angra's Kiko Loureiro Officially Joins Megadeth
Well, its official. The rumored replacement for outgoing guitarist Chris Broderick has been confirmed as Angra's Kiko Louriero.
Mainman Dave Mustaine commented: "I first met Kiko around 8 years ago for a cover shoot for Burrn! magazine. I had no idea who he was, other than the fact he was tremendously talented and that the staff from Burrn! held him in high regard. Since then I've come to see what a guitar virtuoso he is, and I'm deeply encouraged by his depth and talent. Very few Megadeth alumni have had the same feel and ability as Kiko. As Frank Sinatra says, 'the best is yet to come!'"
Louriero becomes the 10th second guitarist for the band. Recently, Mustaine announced that Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler will replace Shawn Drover as a "guest." Drover and Broderick recently teamed up to form the new band Act of Defiance. More...
Chris Adler To Guest On New Megadeth Album
After numerous photo and video-teases over the last weeks, it has now been finally made official that Megadeth hired drummer Chris Adler of Lamb Of God to play on the band's new album.
States Megadeth about the collaboration: "Dave Mustaine, the creative driving force behind original American metal and hard rock crossover giants Megadeth, and Chris Adler, drummer for the leaders of modern American heavy metal Lamb Of God, will join original bassist David Ellefson in the creation of Megadeth's anticipated forthcoming album. Adler will be appearing as a guest on the album and contributing his thundering, hard-hitting, and technically precise style and skill, adding new blood and drive into the mix while staying true to Megadeth's roots." First Video Of Chris Adler Tracking For Megadeth?
A short video clip of a drummer believed to be Lamb Of God's Chris Adler laying down tracks for Megadeth's new album has been posted on the band's official YouTube channel.
Last week a photo that was taken of Dave Mustaine and Chris Adler having a discussion at what appeared to be a fast-food restaurant posted on Twitter by former My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar. If true, Adler's involvement with Megadeth would apparently be limited to studio work only.
Megadeth has yet to officially announce permanent replacements for drummer Shawn Drover and guitarist Chris Broderick, who quit the group in 2014.
