Background
The Richmond, VA 5-piece, Lamb of God, came together in the current form in the fall of 1999. The band has been around in various forms and under various names, most notably Burn The Priest, since '94, however, and the brothers, Chris and Willie, have been playing music together since '88.
Lamb of God signed with Epic records in 2004 and completed their major label debut in just 5 months before embarking on their first Ozzfest tour and subsequent US and UK tours.
Lamb of God play a caustic style of extreme metal that can be compared to few others. It can best be described as a raw mixture of death and doom metal elements, but that description does not do their sound justice. Go get their CD or catch a show and hear it for yourself.

Tony, vocalist for Municipal Waste, checked in to talk about their last tour with Lamb of God and the upcoming Scion Rock Fest with Trap Them.
"Greetings! Tony here checking in from Richmond to let you know what's new with the MUNICIPAL WASTE camp. We just got back in town 2 weeks ago from our 6 week long tour with Lamb of God. The tour was so much fun and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people for coming out and supporting us as well as the bands on the tour for making it such a good time. We
made some great friends and did a lot of "time traveling" with them across the country.
We have a lot of exciting stuff planned this summer and the first thing we have up to bat is a Scion-sponsored show in L.A. on June 10th. We are really looking forward to playing a headlining show and to get our new songs out there to people. We are really fired up about this gig and plan to "go big" on this one so DON'T MISS IT! You will not be disappointed."

No Fear Energy Tour 2009 Rocks Lafayette
Lamb of God is on tour for their seventh studio release, “Wrath,” and they’ve brought along friends that aren’t unknown in the metal community. The tour is only about two months long so catch it if you can. I personally had to drive two hours westward to see the show in Lafayette, Louisiana. But the venue chosen in Lafayette was perfect; it is a medium-sized arena I used to see rodeos in as a child (Lafayette is my hometown.) In New Orleans, we have small bars or sports arenas. In Lafayette, walking into the show was like entering another world like I have never experienced. It was a pitch-blackness with a large stage at the very far end that seemed like the end of the world; the light at the end of a tunnel. Before the show even started, kids were lying next to piles of beer puke on the stone floor. You know it’s going to be a good show. More...

NEMHF 2009 Adds Third Stage
The New England Metal and Hardcore Festival will introduce an additional stage this year dedicated to up and coming bands.
The third stage, sponsored by Deathcote Records, will be located at Chasers Nightclub, located behind the Palladium on the corner of Martin Luther King and Commercial streets. The main festival will be taking place at the Palladium.
“There are so many great bands and not enough time to get all of them on during the course of two days,” said festival co-organizer Sott Lee. “Adding a third stage is a great way for us to showcase some of the developing bands and it’s a terrific opportunity for these bands to play alongside some of today’s top metal and hardcore bands.”
The New England Metal and Hardcore Festival will take place on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, with the Atticus pre-party on Thursday, April 16. This year’s event is presented by Randall Amplifiers, Washburn Guitars and Eden Electronics. Metal Blade Records will present the main stage. Prosthetic Records will present the second stage.
The Atticus-sponsored pre-party will be a unique event that will be combining film and music, kicking off with a screening of official film sponsor Anchor Bay's film "Crowley," co-written by none other than Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson. The provocative supernatural thriller is the tale of a virtual reality experiment gone wrong, sending the soul of the British occultist Aleister Crowley into the body of a shy university professor. But even as Crowley creates all-new orgies of depraved pleasures and black magic, he is now preparing to unleash the ultimate occult event upon the world. Also showing is "Anvil! The Story of Anvil," a sometimes revealing, sometimes hilarious documentary about the legendary Canadian metal band. The movie follows best friends Robb Reiner and Lips as they make a pact to rock together forever. Their band, Anvil, hailed as the "demi-gods of Canadian metal, " influenced a musical generation that includes Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, despite never hitting the big time. Following a calamitous European tour, Lips and Robb, now in their fifties, set off to record their 13th album in one last attempt to fulfill their boyhood dreams. The film will be followed by a performance by the band itself. The pre-party will also be held at the Palladium. Admission is free with a weekend pass or $15 for non-ticket holders.
Prices this year are $40 for Friday, $45 for Saturday or $79 for a 2-day ticket that also includes free admission to the kick off party on Thursday. Tickets are available at all Strawberries, FYE Stores, online at tickets.com or by calling (800) 477-6849. Tickets are available now.

As previously reported, As I Lay Dying will be sitting out the first five shows of their upcoming tour with Lamb Of God. However, the crowd will not be disapointed as replacing them on April 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th will be Los Angeles legends Suicidal Tendencies with Devildriver filling in for As I Lay Dying on April 3rd in Los Angeles.
As I Lay Dying To Miss First Five Tour Dates
As I Lay Dying has issued the following update about missing the first five tour dates of their upcoming tour with Lamb of God:
"Tim has been in the process of adopting a child from Ethiopia for a year now and just recently learned that the official adoption and travel dates are the first week of April. As a result As I Lay Dying will have to miss the first five (5) shows of the upcoming Lamb of God US tour. Tim had the following to say: “It’s impossible to time something like this, and it goes without saying that I won’t be able to make the first five shows of our upcoming tour. However, I’m very thankful to the Lamb of God guys for their understanding and support. Fortunately they’ve been able to find excellent bands to replace us keeping the lineup of this tour exciting as ever. We’ll be meeting up with the tour in Vancouver, BC and finishing out the remaining five weeks. We look forward to seeing you all then!” While there is no specific time period currently set for the band to make up these shows, they definitely want their fans to know that they plan to get back into these five cities at some point in the near future."
