Tonight's Headbangers Ball will air from 10PM-12AM on MTV2 (note new time for this week only) and will be hosted by Queensryche. Here's the lineup:

That Static-X song is lame as sh**. I definitely like their first two albums but they seemed to run out of quality material after that. I haven't heard the new album, besides stingwray, but it's been getting bad reviews.

I love HBB!!! I wish they would make it 2 hrs long. Its nice to actually see Metal on television. I understand that teenagers cutting themselves is a serious issue but Lizzy Borden, Head Bangersball is not the time or place for a public service announcement. Totally not metal. On the other hand the show was pretty sweet. I do find it kind of strange that during commercials there were all kinds of ridiculous rap plugs. Honestly MTV who do you think you target audience is for HBB? It's definitely not the rap/pop going crowd. Finally I would like to say that I'm not much into Death Metal, yet the Cannibal Corpse video is pretty badass! They are the real life Dethklok. Plllllaaaggggguuueeee LLLLLeeeeaaaaaddddssssss tttttooooo DDDeeeaaaattttthhhhhh!!!!

Lacuna Coil are about as metal as a long haired guinea pig...but in terms of female-fronted, pop-heavy, heavy-rock they beat Flyleaf and Evanescence hands down. I still like their early material but Karmacode was meh.

I appreciate what HBB is doing but I'd hate to sit through all the sh** to to see two or three videos that 'might' be worth catching....The Dimmu video for "Serpentine Offering" is good but their video for "The Sacreligious Scorn" is hilariously bad--and I'm a fan from way back.

I listened to some clips of the new one on iTunes...they're gonna lose a lot of fans who soldiered on through Karmacode. I hate saying that too, as their ep and first 3 albums were a long-lived guilty pleasure of mine. They've always been very pop, but the barrier that kept them from being a non-rapping, female fronted, Linkin Park has been lifted.

I had to listen to some Antigama just to flush my head out.
