What the hell does Placebo got to do with metal, may I ask? Green Day as well. I don't mind if Slipknot gets nominated. I'm not a fan but they have a sound of their own, They're brilliant live and just a band thats good at what they do. Sometimes I wonder what people - a lot of people coming here regularly - really want. A 2.0 Metallica? A new Slayer? Then the arguement is how much they sound like "that" classic metal band. "oh, what a rip off band"etc etc
And thats why people hate Slipknot and Korn. Theres no point of reference, and when theres none, in the world of metal it mostly mean "they suck"

On the topic of magazines...Ever since I started visiting MU on a daily basis, I've discontinued to purchase magazines. Revolver has always been a horrible magazine. Metal Hammer is slowly following the footsteps of Revolver. In addition, underground metal mags that were actually worthy of being read, have already suffered from the economic crisis. Now we can only look back at the greatest metal mag that no longer roams this earth...

Economic crisis' come and go. As soon as it goes, we'll finally have some decent underground magazine's in circulation. Kerrang and all these other sh1tty "metal" mainstream representatives however, have no idea what real metal is.
Thing is, it can still be mainstream metal instead of underground sub-genre's such as death metal - just so long as its metal. Placebo and Greenday have no place up there, they're far from metal. Also, that "For What It's Worth" video is a pile of sh1t. What do they do to select these bands? Flick over to Mtv to see what "everyone who's metal" is watching? Atleast they didn't fvck up with putting LOG and Mastodon up there, though they did fvck up by putting them in their award ceremonies along with the brutality of "You Me Suck T1ts" and "Enter Sh1tari".

Ok, I am a fan of Slipknots but the last CD was not my top pick. Nor do I think they should be remembered for it (to much StoneSour influence for me). However they do put on a great show. As for most of the others, well I will not be wasting my time with them.
And award shows never get it right, but then again I avoid them like the plague.

I'm curious how Shinedown classifies as a newcomer. Have they not been available overseas? And best international act - Lamb of God. Possibly the only band worthy of an award on this list. I haven't heard Gallows or Enter Shikari. Are they worth paying attention to?
