Seven More Names Added To 70000 Tons Of Metal

The organisers of the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise has announced a further seven names for the event, which will be setting sail in less than a week. Joining the already impressive roster are death metal pioneers Possessed, along with traditional metal outfit Striker, groove metal outfit Once Human featuring former Machine Head and Soulfly guitarist Logan Mader, jazz fusion metal combo Without Waves, Boston power metal ensemble FirstBourne, Colombian death metal group No Raza and Belgian thrash/metalcore band Spoil Engine. This brings the number of bands up to fifty seven, with sixty in total to perform. The ship will set sail to Cozumel, Mexico on January 7th and return to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on January 11th.

The lineup for next year's edition of the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise draws ever closer to completion with the announcement of four more acts for the floating festival. Joining the already stacked lineup are two American thrash metal veterans, Toxik and the recently reunited Vio-Lence, the Mexican cartel of deathgrind Brujeria will also be dealing some brutality, while former Manowar guitarist Ross The Boss will also be on board, along with Canadian metal outfit, Aeternam. This brings the number of bands up to fifty, with sixty in total to perform. The ship will set sail to Cozumel, Mexico on January 7th and return to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on January 11th.

Axxis Releases "Venom" Music Video

Germany's Axxis released a new music video for the track "Venom." The song appears on the band's latest album "Kingdom of the Night II" - a double release consisting of the "black" and "white" editions - which is now available via Phonotraxx Records. The song appears on the "black" edition, which features the heavier tracks. A review for the release can be found over at this location.

The video was produced by Holger Hertling with editing, cut and idea by Tim Schneider, supported by vocalist Bernhard Weiß. Check out the video here:

Axxis Details "Kingdom Of The Night II"

German traditional metal act Axxis will release the new album "Kingdom of the Night II" via Phonotraxx Publishing (distributed by Soulfood) on February 28th. The double length album will come in a "white" and "dark" combination - which the band will show off its rockin' roots as well as the heavier more power metal direction of recent albums. The release is a sequel to the 1989 debut album "Kingdom of the Night."

Facts about the release and its various versions are:

CD 1 - Black Edition CD includes heavier and darker songs.
CD 2 - White Edition CD includes ballads and more quiet songs.

Will be released in the following formats:

- Digital download
- Black Edition or White Edition - single digibook CD

Axxis Splits With Drummer

German power metal band Axxis has parted ways with drummer Andrè Hilgers. The band issued the following statement on their MySpace page:

"Andrè will concentrate his full energy on Rage in the future. We wish him the greatest success out there and we want to say: Thanxx for all! We're sure that we all will hear a lot of positive things in the future from Andrè."

Vocalist Bernhard Weiss also stated "Andrè is a great person and a super drummer. He would earn to reach the top-ten list of the best drummers in Germany. We will miss him."

Keyboard player Harry Oellers added "We wish Andrè all the best for his future and we're looking back on wonderful 4 years in a successful time."
