Fear Factory Members Reunite For New Project
Fear Factory vocalist Burton C. Bell and former Fear Factory/current Divine Heresy guitarist Dino Cazares have announced that they will be forming a new project along with thrash metal drumming legend Gene Hoglan (Dark Angel, Forbbiden, Testament, Dethklok Strapping Yound Lad amongst others) with Fear Factory bass player Byron Stroud rumoured to be part of the lineup too. The band currently has no name but one is expected to be revealed soon.
Divine Heresy Announces U.S. Tour Dates
Divine Heresy has announced a short string of upcoming U.S. tour dates. The currently confirmed dates are as follows:

Divine Heresy To Enter The Studio In February
Divine Heresy, the band featuring former Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares has announced that they will be heading into the studio in February to record their second album. The album will be the bands first with vocalist Travis Neal (formerly of The Bereaved and Pushed), since the band fired their original lead vocalist Tommy "Vext" Cummings who is now singing for the reunited Snot. Divine Heresy will be enlisting the services of production team Dirty Icon (Logan Mader and Lucas Banker) who have previously produced albums for Cavalera Conspiracy, Gojira and Five Finger Death Punch.
Guitarist Dino Cazares has posted the following message online: "With Neal now having a few shows under his belt, his confidence is coming across through the new material. The songwriting process has been great and the ideas are constantly flowing. Collaborating with Tim Yeung [drums], Joe Payne [bass] and Neal, all together hashing out ideas in the practice space, has been very therapeutic and enjoyable. We all have a collective desire to take our performances to the next level with this release to undoubtedly prove that we are one of the most devastating bands in the scene today. Prepare to be annihilated and stay tuned to our MySpace page for studio reports and new video footage."

Early Man Announces Tour Dates With Iced Earth

Previews of the forthcoming Roadrunner United have been posted online and are available to view below. Iced Earth Announces 11 New Tour Dates
American metal band ICED EARTH has announced the continuation of their current "North American Crucible" with 11 more shows in the US and Canada in November. "People kept on reaching out to us and questioned why we weren't coming to their cities - well, here's your answer! I cannot wait to see more Minions out at these shows!" says Jon Schaffer.
Support on these dates will come from Divine Heresy (main support) and Early Man (opening act).

Indianapolis Metal Fest II Cancelled
The second day of Indianapolis Metal Fest II has been cancelled. Here's a statement from show organizers:
"Due to issues entirely beyond our control, the Saturday show at 5100 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis has been cancelled. More details will be available on our website soon.
"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Make-up dates are being considered, and we are certain to file legal action against the parties responsible for this situation.
"Thanks to all who came out to the show on Friday night -- it was a GREAT crowd and the bands were amazing. Though we were unable to give you the show we wanted to give you due to problems and code violations within the venue, I think we all pulled together as best we could and made the Friday night show one hell of a good show.
"Special thanks to Morgan and Mercedes Lander from Kittie for being so exceptionally cool. Extra special thanks to Dino Cazares for invaluable advice and support during the show.
"A major announcement and statement will be made concerning this issue in a day or so."
Indianapolis Metal Fest II Announces Venue Change
Monolith Entertainment and the Indianapolis Metal Fest II have announced a change in venue for the two day event to be held September 26th and 27th, 2008. The festival, dubbed "the Midwest's fastest growing celebration of all things metal," will move to the Marquee Convention and Event Center located at 5100 W. 38th Street in Indianapolis, IN 46254.
The Festival was originally scheduled to be held at the Madame C.J. Walker Theatre but the organizers moved the event to the new venue to accommodate the comfort of additional fans to move inside in case of inclement weather.
Monolith Entertainment is working through all media outlets to inform all fans who have already purchased tickets that these tickets are remain valid at the new venue. All other details remain the same with regards to the show and ticket booking info.

Arsis Added To Indianapolis Metalfest II Lineup
Nuclear Blast USA Recording artist and death metal act Arsis is confirmed to appear at the Indianapolis Metal Fest II on September 26th and 27.
Arsis joins label mates Dew-Scented, Threat Signal, and Bleed the Sky for their first-ever appearance at what's being touted as the "fastest growing celebration of all things metal." In its second year, the Indianapolis Metal Fest is setting itself apart from other metal festivals by highlighting diverse bands from all metal genres.
2008 has proved to be busy and successful for the Virginia-based Arsis, which is arriving in Indianapolis fresh off their summer "Trash and Burn Tour" with Misery Signal, Darkest Hour, and Parkway Drive and will hit the road again in November on the "European MetalFest Tour" with Morbid Angel and Kataklysm through the end of the year. Arsis is performing and touring with material from their latest Nuclear Blast Release, "We are the Nightmare."
Joining Arsis, Dew-Scented, Threat Signal, and Bleed the Sky at the Indianapolis Metal Fest II will be national bands Kittie, Divine Heresy, Mustasch, The Absence, Ekotren, Woe of Tyrants, Demiricous, Shadowside (Brazil), Level-C, Wykked Wytch, Obszon Geschopf (France), Green Jelly, Into Eternity, Daylight Dies, Destrophy, Skeletonwitch, The Destro, Gates of Slumber, Gigan, Black Chapel, and a number of hand-picked artists and regional favorites.

Downspell Announces Special Guests On CD
Three new heavyweights in the metal world have been added to the guest list for the new yet to be titled DOWNSPELL CD. Besides guests like Lamb of God's Randy Blythe, Troy and Josh from the one and only Cattle Decapitation and Ed from death metal legends Disgorge. The band also enlisted Bobby from So cal sludge lords -16-, legendary producer and Blessing the Hogs guitarist Billy Anderson and last but definitely not least, DINO CEZARES.

Divine Heresy Cancels South American Tour
Divine Heresy issue the following message regarding the cancellation of their South American tour
"Divine Heresy would like to send our sincerest apologies to all of our South American fans."
"We were so happy to finally be able to come down and play some killer show's for all of you guys!, but the promoter (CASA DE MUSICA) fucked up getting the necessary work visa's and flight's."
"Please do not let this reflect negatively on the band and as soon as we find a new promoter we will come back down there and tear it up!"
Divine Heresy Announces New Vocalist
After much controversy and speculation, DIVINE HERESY has announced a dynamic new vocalist, Travis Neal (The Bereaved, Pushed), who will join them on their upcoming tour of Mexico, which will be followed by a string of U.S. dates. The group recently re-recorded the album's title track, "Bleed The Fifth" with Neal on vocals. Head over now to the band's MySpace to check it out. A video for the track is also currently being edited together for an early Sept. airdate, so keep an eye out.
Dino Cazares (guitars) further comments: "We are beyond stoked to have Travis on board with us and we immediately knew that he was the perfect guy for the job. He definitely has the range and stage presence to make him one of the genre's most lethal vocalists out there and the new material we are writing is going to smoke our debut. It's more brutal, faster and pissed off, so you better start preparing yourselves now. Until then, we went ahead and re-recorded "Bleed The Fifth" with Travis and it's just a little taste of what this guy is truly capable of so enjoy and we will see you soon."

Divine Heresy Seeks New Vocalist
Divine Heresy have issued the following update regarding the search for a new vocalist:
"If you are interested in trying out for the position, you need to go to the group's MySpace page at to download some instrumental tracks. You will need to record your vocals on them and submit them back to Divineheresyband@AOL.com along with a bio, any possible photos and contact info. Vocal tracks should be as organic as possible. No autotune or vocal effects, excessive reverb, etc."

Snot Announces Reunion And Plans To Tour
Blabbermouth.net reports: The surviving members of the Santa Barbara act Snot have revealed that they will be reuniting with the intentions of touring. They have revealed that former Divine Heresy vocalist Tommy Vext (Tommy Cummings) will be handling the singing duties on these shows.
So far two shows have been confirmed with more to be announced shortly. The shows are as follows:
Aug. 23 - Salt Lake City, UT @ Club Vegas (Dusty's 3rd Annual Plan For Damage Show - 2 Stages Outdoor)
Sep. 12 - West Hollywood, CA @ House of Blues
The band's original vocalist, Lynn Strait, died in a car cash in December 1998. The band only released one album with him but released a second album of songs they had been working on prior to his passing entitled "Strait Up" which featured singers from the alt- metal/nu-metal genre, including the likes of Korn, Limp Bizkit and Slipknot.
