"some music was meant to stay underground..."

Divine Heresy To Enter The Studio In February

Divine Heresy, the band featuring former Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares has announced that they will be heading into the studio in February to record their second album. The album will be the bands first with vocalist Travis Neal (formerly of The Bereaved and Pushed), since the band fired their original lead vocalist Tommy "Vext" Cummings who is now singing for the reunited Snot. Divine Heresy will be enlisting the services of production team Dirty Icon (Logan Mader and Lucas Banker) who have previously produced albums for Cavalera Conspiracy, Gojira and Five Finger Death Punch.

Guitarist Dino Cazares has posted the following message online: "With Neal now having a few shows under his belt, his confidence is coming across through the new material. The songwriting process has been great and the ideas are constantly flowing. Collaborating with Tim Yeung [drums], Joe Payne [bass] and Neal, all together hashing out ideas in the practice space, has been very therapeutic and enjoyable. We all have a collective desire to take our performances to the next level with this release to undoubtedly prove that we are one of the most devastating bands in the scene today. Prepare to be annihilated and stay tuned to our MySpace page for studio reports and new video footage."

Dino, man. I love you, but f*** the world needs more Fear Factory. I don't give a sh** what your priorities are. Pull up the boys, and tear a f***in new one in the Metal scene.

On a side note, if Fear Factory doesn't reunite, this new album should rip. Tim kills with those base Padels.

I kinda have to agree with terminator. every time a DH thread comes up, people tend to drool over it a lot. I'm just on here to check out some news on a band that i think is fairly solid, and here i see people practically dry-humping the comments section...

As for the actual news, several things that make me happy:
1: I had no idea tommy was singing for snot now. this is great news, because even though i always enjoyed snot's music, i always hated their vocalist, so now maybe I'll actually listen to them?

2: I still cant tell the difference betweent the new vocalist and the old one. not only do they scream the same, but they sing the same, and in hte same lyrical pattern. Thye even look the same, the new one's just skinnier. So basically, the band wanted to replace tommy with the same exact guy in every way except without an attitude and not as fat. Great leap of faith there guys. i just find it hilarious.

and 3: their producer has some awesome credits to his name under his belt already. Cavalera Conspiracy was a very solid album, Gojira's was awesome, and even though I dont listen to five finger, I can tell some work was put into making their music well-produced. so if the guy who worked on all that is doing the new album.....yippee.

Now Playing: Pantera- f***ing Hostile

Look at the past DH threads and you'll see that I really don't like it, it is not very good at all and I always insult Dino Casarez, somehow he thinks he's the sh** when he is a piece of sh**. somebody should straighten that with him. And I almost forgot, he's the fattest mammal on earth...if he sits on a blue whale, the whale goes : iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii !!!

Well he was part of one of the most influential bands in the 90s. I would think I'm the sh** too.

Hey drewbacca I know we had our disagreements in the past, but if you want to see what a real c***bag is like head over to either the heavy metal egypt thread or the dave mustaine coffee thread.

^the closest i can think of in terms of overall sound is a mix of Devildriver and Killswitch Engaged.
with a much better drummer to boot.

I only say killswitch because of the "scream/epic singing" song structure they often have. dont let it turn you off from the band lol

Haha! Irishmetal, I respect your opinions because I can tell you are a intelligent person. It wasn't fair for me to push my beliefs on people anyways. This is awfully cliche but if everyone in the world were the same then life would be pretty boring. Cheers! Everyone have a great new year!

YES - I like Divine Heresy, quite a bit, even with Dino. It is cool that they will have a new album next month.
