Sounds pretty badass to me, Fear Factory ripped it up back in the day. My two favorites are Obsolete and Demanufacture.

You're right...although post-Dino Fear Factory was an improvement over that era. ANY project with Hoglan on drums will get some attention from my ears before I pass judgment.

AP1: My problem with Burton was his denial that he is or ever was "metal". I quit caring what came out of his mouth at that point.

It was really more of a problem with Dino and Danny for the reason for the breakup in the first place BTW that cars tune was just a bonus track you must be out of your fukking mind if you dont consider the Obsolete cd good metal. Shiit is heavy and brutal as fukk in a different way. Im actually looking forward to hearing this project.

Leprosy: They also didn't mention Pitch Black Forecast and several other projects (possibly hundreds) Gene was involved with, but the fact remains that you'd have to be a complete metal moron to not know who Gene Hoglan is.

Divine Heresy would have been goo dif they didnt follow the Killswitch engaged format.

Scream/heavy part, then clean sing/melody, then repeat utnil song is odne, but with an increasing tempo/more intense singing/screaming to make the song sound more dramatic. retarted, and formulaic as hell. there could otherwise have been som legitamately good stuff off that cd , but they (in my eyes) f***ed it up.

gene Hoglan can do no wrong though.

Very good news, I have much respect for Gene as well as Burton...
Burton is a legend in my eyes, he and his merry men revolutionised industrial metal and are/were completely in their own league...
That said, I am honestly looking forward to this release, sure it may not be FF most of us know, but with Gene in the mix, it's bound to be fvcking killer!

Regarding Burton's side project (or his new outfit, whatever it may be), Ascension Of The Watchers, I have to say that as many times as I played it to appreciate where Bell was coming from, it sucked worse and worse upon each listen... Disappointing to me as I was expecting something completely diferent!

new band? doenst it occur to anyone that this techically the same line-up as Fear Factory anyway?

sure, gene Hoglan is a new additon, but his style of drumming isnt much different from the original drummer's anyway, at least when he plays industrial-esque metal, it' sjust better. if anything, it's just slightly better fear factory. or, depending on how each memeber's musical ability has progressed or degressed during their absence...it could be worse.

If it's not going to be a continuation of where Fear Factory was going then it should be a new band.

Divine Heresy was awesome and nothing like KSE. The formula, if anything, was far more like Obsolete style Fear Factory. But with Dino writing both albums what did you expect.

Divine Heresy made the album FF should have made after Digimortal.

And clean vocals does not automatically make it metalcore. It's atmospheric. But i agree less is more.
