See Stephen Colbert Appear In Flaw's New Video
This past March late night talk show host Stephen Colbert mentioned Flaw and their now successfully completed GoFundMe campaign for a new touring van during a bit on U.S. President Donald Trump‘s border wall and the rumors then that he was considering crowdfunding it too.
The mention became a minor running gag in the weeks that followed. After some months had passed and Flaw had yet to hit their targeted amount of money, Colbert stepped in to help get the band a new touring van, complete with diverse accessories.
Stephen Colbert unveiled the van to Flaw themselves in a segment that aired during past Friday’s episode of ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert‘ that you can stream below. He also has an appearance in the band's new music video for their new song “Conquer This Climb“, which is you can take in below as well.
Flaw Premieres New Music Video
Flaw premieres a new music video for "Do You Remember", taken from the band's latest album "Divided We Fall". Says vocalist Chris Volz of the clip:
"We are very excited about the next single, the meaning the lyrics have to me, and to the people who hear it, is very profound. I feel like we all have a dream that we should follow, sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of what really matters in life. This video captures all of the emotions we put into live shows, and is a true representation of the energy connected to our music."
Flaw Reuniting, Announces New Album
Flaw is reuniting and has launched a crowd funding campaign at IndieGoGo here to release an upcoming album. The band comments:
"What's the best way to celebrate our comeback with all original members? By putting out a brand new FLAW studio album!
"We found from our many years of touring and communication on social media, that our fans (YOU) wanted to and loved getting unique items from us. We've seen as we've been performing across the country, that you love hearing our new material as much as the hits, and we want to keep them coming! In order to do this, we want to release our next demo as soon as possible!
"We are currently writing the new tracks that we're hoping to get on this album. We actually have quite a few (around 18 or so) that we're testing and working on while we're out on the road. From there, we're going to narrow it down, and bring in about 10-12 into the studio. We need to pay for some equipment and pay for studio time and space, as well as a van and trailer for touring. We're estimating these costs at coming in at approximately 30K. If we don't hit our goal, we will use these monies to help us get started, and work towards finding other means to find enough funding to move forward. More...

Flaw Guitarist and Possibly More Members Depart
Flaw and guitarist Nathan McDaniel have gone their separate ways following a not-so-friendly MySpace bulletin, which has since been deleted. Whoever is in control of the band's MySpace, which seems to be McDaniel, has posted the following message about recent events:
"The WHOLE truth
"Keep hearin rumors that we were actually kicked out. I'm sure thats what Volz and his cronies are telling everybody to try and save face. If you did not read the bulletin before I'll make sure its here for all to see. We left the band because Chris Volz is a drunken, woman beating, lying, washed up waste of a human being. I'm sure money hungry vultures will jump into our spots just to try and make a name (what a name to have) or go somewhere. It took me finding out for myself but FLAW is in fact a fucking joke now.
"And just to let you guys in on another fact. All of the new songs any of you heard on the road after jay left, are mine and Tylers and some of them Van's (our former bass player) - Indifferance, Uncurled, Last December and most of Believe In Me. So enjoy a buncha shitty versions of our songs. And please buy a lotta albums so they have some money to pay us when we sue their asses off.
"Keep on checkin. More goodies to come in about a week. And no, you cannot have the Password to this site..hahaha(inside joke)"
It is unclear at the moment if drummer Terry Harper and bassist Tyler will remain a part of the band, although the message above would suggest otherwise.
Flaw is expected to release a new studio album in 2009.

The musicians we worked with were extremely professional and productive. It all flowed very well and everything fell right into place.”
Joining Volz in the studio for said recording experience were Matt Chiaravalle (Kittie, Crossbreed, Warren Zevon) and Jason Spiewak (Five.Bolt.Main) in both production capacity and as players on the record. Chris Volz Sets Solo Album Release Date
Chris Volz, formerly of FLAW and the recently-disbanded Five.Bolt.Main, has just set a release date for his forthcoming debut solo album. The album, tentatively titled “Redemption,” will be hitting stores on September 11th on Rock Ridge Music.
“The lyrics on this record are very personal,” says Volz. “I don’t sing about anything I haven’t felt or don’t mean. Personally, this record was my turn to grab the reins. This album is, with no offense meant to any of my former bandmates, the chance to do everything I’ve always wanted to do.” The recording process took two weeks, the fastest recording experience of Volz’s career. “I have never recorded that expediently.
Also performing on the record were: Danny Schuler (Biohazard), Chris Vitali (Orange 9mm), Johnny Pisano (Ryan Adams, Marky Ramone, Jesse Malin), and Rich Smalley (The NightRats, Looker).
Says Schuler of the recording process: "I've done a lot of session work, and really enjoyed playing on this record. Chris and the guys were great, made me feel comfortable. The songs came together so quickly, the music basically wrote itself. All I had to do was listen. Being involved was a pleasure." Adds Spiewak: "Our goal from a production standpoint was to deliver on Chris's vision."
Volz plans to tour in support of the album later this year, but in the meantime, he is currently enjoying his time on the road with his former band, FLAW.
Volz has also been enjoying working with his label: Rock Ridge Music. “I’ve never dealt with a label like Rock Ridge Music before,” he says. “They never do things without telling the artist first. They do things quickly and cost effectively. Most importantly, their heart is in it, and I think it’s a better experience that way. They’re a company who cares about two to three records, not just one song. Artist development in this industry is so hard to come lately, and they truly believe in it.”

Mistress Juliya The Cause Of Flaw's Split?
In a recent interview with The All Knowing Force, Flaw front-man Chris Volz stated that former Fuse VJ Mistress Juliya as the cause of the bands breakup in 2004. Volz claims Juliya brainwashed former bassist Ryan Juhrs by introducing him to his idols which lead to the split.
Juliya called into the show on March 13th, along with Juhrs current band-mates in Black Market Hero, where she stated that Volz comments were drug and alcohol induced and accused him of being a woman beater.
Audio of the Chris Volz conversation is available here and Juliya's here.

Flaw Frontman Chris Volz Recording Solo Album
Chris Volz, formerly of FLAW and the recently-disbanded Five.Bolt.Main, is currently recording and will be releasing his debut solo album on Rock Ridge Music this fall. The album title and track list will be announced once recording is finished. Manning the production side of things are a team including Matt Chiaravalle (Kittie, Crossbreed, Warren Zevon) and Rock Ridge Music principals. Earlier this month, the members of Five.Bolt.Main parted ways and Volz began work on his solo record.
Says Rock Ridge Music principal Jason Spiewak of the recording process: “Working with Volz has been awesome. The songs that he’s working on are deeply personal. The music and lyrics speak about his life, his experiences, his connection to music.”
Volz himself is very excited about the new material. “We’ve got a great team working on the record, and it’s giving me a chance to fully express myself in a solo capacity,” Volz says. “I’ve put a lot of time and effort into the material for this album, and it’s based on stuff I’ve worked on for years. The songs are somewhat of a growth process for me as an artist, but I’m looking forward to finishing it and getting it out there for people to hear it.”
Volz plans to tour in support of the album later this year, but in the meantime, he has lined up a handful of shows with his former band, FLAW, with whom he’ll be hitting the Midwest in March.
