Flaw Frontman Chris Volz Recording Solo Album
Chris Volz, formerly of FLAW and the recently-disbanded Five.Bolt.Main, is currently recording and will be releasing his debut solo album on Rock Ridge Music this fall. The album title and track list will be announced once recording is finished. Manning the production side of things are a team including Matt Chiaravalle (Kittie, Crossbreed, Warren Zevon) and Rock Ridge Music principals. Earlier this month, the members of Five.Bolt.Main parted ways and Volz began work on his solo record.
Says Rock Ridge Music principal Jason Spiewak of the recording process: “Working with Volz has been awesome. The songs that he’s working on are deeply personal. The music and lyrics speak about his life, his experiences, his connection to music.”
Volz himself is very excited about the new material. “We’ve got a great team working on the record, and it’s giving me a chance to fully express myself in a solo capacity,” Volz says. “I’ve put a lot of time and effort into the material for this album, and it’s based on stuff I’ve worked on for years. The songs are somewhat of a growth process for me as an artist, but I’m looking forward to finishing it and getting it out there for people to hear it.”
Volz plans to tour in support of the album later this year, but in the meantime, he has lined up a handful of shows with his former band, FLAW, with whom he’ll be hitting the Midwest in March.

Why would you release a solo album when you have absolutely NO name value? Chris, you won't see a profit from this; you should just make these tracks free downloads on your website. Use them to promote Flaw, which does have somewhat of a chance to make a profit.
I think Flaw makes some decent music, but let's get real about how well a solo slbum from him will fare.

Guys got a great voice, too bad 9/10's of his lyrics from Flaw are severely lacking.
