Apathia Records Offering Free Compilation

Apathia Records has just released a free digital compilation titled “Compendium: Year I – III.” The compilation contains eleven tracks from bands of differing styles and can be downloaded at this location (Facebook, Twitter, or Google Plus required). The track listing is:

Wormfood is an experimental gothic / doom metal band from Paris formed eleven years ago. Evolving in a black / theatrical death metal direction in the early years, the group took a dramatically dark musical turn in 2007. Now this album re-issue has been remastered by Axel Wursthorn (ex-Carnival In Coal) at Walnut Groove Studio.

Wormfood Posts "Decade(nt)" Re-Issue Trailer

Wormfood Posts "Christian Woman" Cover

French act Wormfood has posted a cover version of Type O Negative's "Christian Woman" online, which can be heard in the video clip below. The song features guest appearances by Arno Strobl (Carnival in Coal, Kroak, Maladaptive) and Asphodel (Pin-up Went Down), and was recorded at Walnut Groove Studio by producer Axel Wursthorn.

Although Wormfood was not involved with the project, Metalunderground.com also recently released a digital-only Peter Steele tribute album, with details available at this location.

Wormfood Parts With Label

France's Wormfood has issued the following announcement about parting ways with label Deadlight Entertainment:

"For reasons beyond our control, disrupting the release and the promotion of our new album 'Posthume,' we had to put an end to our collaboration with our label Deadlight Entertainment. Therefore the release of the album is postponed. We are currently working hard with our partners to find a good and prompt solution. We invite people who preordered the album to contact directly Deadlight Entertainment for a refund.

"We apologize to those who have expected this album for a long time, and assure them of our recognition for their support and understanding. We'll keep you posted about further developments as soon as possible."

Wormfood Announces New Keyboardist

French metal act Wormfood, which signed to Deadlight Entertainment earlier this year, has now issued the following brief update about recruiting a new keyboard player: "New keyboardist! Keyboardist Pierre Le Pape (Embryonic Cells, Kim's Over Silence) joins Wormfood's line-up. Welcome Pierre!" You can also check out sample Wormfood tracks through the band's official MySpace page.

Wormfood Streaming New Song

Following a signing with the French label Deadlight Entertainment, Wormfood has now announced the following new line-up: Renaud Fauconnier (Borgia, Abstusa Unde, Ketelo Trop, Psy K Trip): guitar, Vincent Liard (Lonah, Desert Orange): bass, Thomas Jacquelin: drums, Axel Wursthorn (ex-Carnival In Coal): keyboard, arrangements (studio), Emmanuel "El Worm" Levy (ex-Carnival in Coal): vocals, guitar.

The band has also launched a new MySpace page, and published a full preview track from the upcoming album "Posthume," which is entitled "Les Noces sans Retouest." The song features a guest appearance of Carnivore's Paul Bento on sitar.

Wormfood Signs to Deadlight Entertainment

WORMFOOD recently announced its signing to DEADLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT (Undercover Slut, Bukowski, Livarkahil), who will release its new album next autumn. The band's new album is titled "Posthume" and contains eight tracks in the vein of Type O Negative, Ange and Paradise Lost including a cover of Stephan Eicher's "Des Hauts et des Bas" and features guest appearance by Paul Bento (Carnivore, Type O Negative) on Sitar and eletronic tempura.

Wormfood To Enter Studio In March

French decadent metallers WORMFOOD will enter Walnut Groove Studio in March to begin recording their new album for a late 2008 release. The new CD will be produced by Axel Wursthorn (ex-CARNIVAL IN COAL), who recently joined WORMFOOD as the group's keyboardist and arranger.

In other news, Axel Wursthorn and WORMFOOD singer El Worm recently released the soundtrack to a short movie set in New York, called "One Step Behind" (directed by G. Jeudy).

WORMFOOD's debut album, entitled "France", came out in 2005 on the Italian label Code666.

Wormfood Post Live Video Online

A live video of the French decadent metallers WORMFOOD performing their infamous song "Vieux Pedophile" live at Killer Fest 2006 has been posted online by TDKprod at this location.

WORMFOOD released its first album, entitled "France", on the Italian label Code666 and is currently working on a new CD, scheduled for release in 2007. In addition, three of bandmembers have joined CARNIVAL IN COAL's touring lineup.
