Devildriver Completes Tracking Of New Album
Devildriver drummer John Boecklin reports that the band's new album, "Pray For Villains," has been completely tracked:
"The record is completely tracked!! This album certainly has a more serious and focused vibe that we may have missed in previous efforts. One song in particular is the craziest double bass patterns I've ever done, guitar work you would not expect from us, mixed in with a really fresh vocal approach Completely new from dez . Its vibe is very new for us, but still totally brutal. I guess talking about it won't do much, I'm just trying to state that you won't be disappointed with us if you are devildriver fan. Yet, there will be some surprises in 'pray for villains' that are refreshing. In case someone didn't read it already, 'pray for villains' is the album title. I'm very proud of every member for stepping it up!"
Devildriver Bassist Jon Miller Posts Update
Devildriver bassist Jon Miller has posted an update with reactions to the new album. Here's what he had to say:
"Hi guys and gals, it is 7:45am and I'm sitting at an airport hotel in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I just visited my girl on her first week of the Mudvayne tour (which is absolutely killer) and now I am waiting to catch a flight to meet my dad in Vegas for a couple of days to hang out. I return to Santa Barbara on Friday the 13th to practice with the band for a couple of days and then it is DOWN UNDER for DevilDriver. I always look forward to travelling to Australia. It is an experience like no other to visit one of the shark attack capitals of the world.
"Oh, and just to fill you in......the fourth DevilDriver studio album is on the threshold of completion. It is downright fucking nasty.......the best shit we have ever done....I am super proud of this one. We have spent the last 18 months writing it and fine tuning every note. It is definitely something fresh for the listeners ears. We are pulling some moves that we have never pulled before on a record. DevilDriver has gone to a place where we needed to go on this one......stay tuned."
