Devildriver Reveals New Album Title As "'Pray For Villians"

Devildriver frontman Dez Fafara recently checked in with an update on the new album. During his message he revealed the title of the record. His post reads as follows:

"DevilDriver is currently recording in LA with Logan Mader (ex-Machine Head) and things are going great. I've done five tracks on vocals and Mike (Spreitzer - guitar) and Jeff (Kendrick - guitar) are finishing overdubs and solos. We are recording 15 tracks and we've stepped it up big time for this one. The album is called 'Pray For Villians' and will be out this summer. We know you will love it. We can't wait for everyone to hear the songs."

I read the origin of the name-DEVILDRIVER- is actually a bell that is supposed to ward off evil often used by witches...crazy, huh?

not sure why that first dude commented.....not constructive at all to use his words. DevilDriver are one of the tightest bands I've ever heard. Every album is quality. Who cares what they're called.....talk about too much time on your hands.

Androphobic... what is that, the fear of biological machines? I absolutely LOVED Devildriver's first album, but that next one didn't really impress me much. Not sure why, everyone says it's excellent. It just didn't grab my attention for some reason :(

Dez is a legend, maybe a little bit difficult for me to appreciate Devildriver as Coalchamber was more comic metal (self titled and Dark Days I enjoyed thoroughly), however, in saying that I purchased devildriver's first album, but have yet to give it the play time it may deserve!

Psythe, it could depend on the mood you were in when you were listening or the situation when you first heard Fury. I actually really got in to it when I was working out, where as before then I wrote it off. Regardless, can't blame you for not getting in to it because I personally found no redeeming qualities about their self titled.

Tx, I had read that as well. I do find it interesting as I was expecting a different connotation from their name.

I always figured the name would mean something like that actually.

For me, I think Dez found his place in DevilDriver. Coal Chamber had some decent tunes, but DD definitely suits Dez like a heavy glove :) I think you're probly right about the situation thing Necro, when I first tried Fury, I'd been listening to the debut all-out for a while and was getting a bit tired of DD... so I was kinda sick of em when I heard the second album. That said, I still listen to DD every now and then, and still love them so I guess it's probly about time I gave Fury a go ey?
