Gorod is currently in the studio laying down tracks for a new album, and the band has now checked in with the following update:
"Hello guys, things are going pretty well for our new album in Mat's BUD Studio... Rhythm guitars are now recorded and it's pretty HUUUUGE! Really excited we are! We can't wait to give you a little taste of these new songs!"
France's Gorod split with the band's drummer at the tail end of August, and now the band has recruited a replacement.
Although not yet ready to reveal the drummers name, Gorod has issued the following statement:
"This past Friday, we (the whole Gorod team) met our new drummer to plan things for 2014. Actually just a few gigs planned.... because we're now focusing on this: composition, pre-production, recording, and a new album!
"We also had a rehearsal with him...... ho dudes, this grooooove! Can't wait to introduce him to you soon with a nice video! Cheers!" More...
France's Antropofago (not to be confused with Antropofagus) has boasted guitar-crafting wizard Hugo Mermet (maker of custom guitars for Gorod, Insain and many more) in its ranks for most of the band's existence.
However, it has always been understood that a time might come where Mermet's business would hinder his ability to be a full-time contributor to Antropofago. That time came recently when the band was at work on upcoming full-length album, "Aera Dementiae."
Thus, a mutual decision was made to find a suitable replacement once the recording process was finished.
That replacement was quickly found in Gorod guitarist Nicolas Alberny. With Antropofago's fetish for musicianship and guitar technique, it was no surprise that a guitarist of Alberny's caliber would answer the band's call. Having already recorded some guest parts for the new album, Alberny knew what to expect once he joined the fold. More...
French act Gorod has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with the band's drummer:
"Hello to you all. These few words are to let you know that our drummer Samuel Santiago is no longer in Gorod. The reasons for this split up only concern Samuel and Gorod, no others statements will be made about this.
"The few gigs booked for the end of the year are confirmed and will be done with a temporary drummer, these gigs will be the the last concerning 'A Perfect Absolution.'
"In the following weeks GOROD will focus and start to compose for a new album and - we have a few ideas - we will search for a new drummer. More news soon." More...
