Sonic Syndicate Returns From Hiatus
After a nearly 2 year long hiatus, Swedish-British modern metal superstars Sonic Syndicate are back in the studio to demo new songs. Check out a short trailer including a first sample of the new Sonic Syndicate sound below.
Commented the band: “The response has been over-whelming from everyone - Thank you! YES, we are back and we have started writing a new album! We always said we would return and never let our fans down; we just had to take a breather and relax because during this time some of us have become parents. Its not that easy to just ditch and jump on a tour bus or into the studio when you've just had a baby! But now we are comfortable to be able to continue - we can't wait to show you what we have planned! We'll be dropping some more video updates on the writing process soon!“
Sonic Syndicate 2013 is:

Roger Sjunnesson Comments On Sonic Syndicate
Sonic Syndicate founding member Roger Sjunnesson has issued the following statement about his departure from the band and his new group The Unguided:
"Dear Sonic fans and fellow Musicians, I´m no longer a member of the band I founded with my brother Richard ten years ago. A couple of weeks ago Sonic Syndicate distributed a press release stating 'Last year we parted ways with two band members,' and I think this ambiguity requires some clarification. The first member they are alluding is of course Richard who left Sonic Syndicate in October 2010, and the second is - as some of you already figured out - me. However it should be noted I was in the band well into this year and that´s it.
"I will not go into any details. All I can say is that I never wanted this split to happen, and I did my very best to find an equitable solution. I have been in this band since day 1, written many great songs on all Sonic's albums that I am proud of, toured the world and met fans and every band I grew up listening to. This is nothing you give up easily and it feels strange to not be a part of this band anymore. But this is the last word and it's time to move forward. More...
Sonic Syndicate Comments On Return From Hiatus
Nuclear Blast has issued the following statement about Sonic Syndicate
"Last year was an insane rollercoaster for Sonic Syndicatewith extremes of both highs and lows. The band played in front literally the biggest crowds of their entire career, but parted ways with 2 band members. They were presented with Gold Records amongst other music awards, but lost over 100,000 friends when their Facebook page was deleted. The list of good and bad that pursues Sonic is longer than their bar tab at the Metal Hammer Awards. So after the We Rule the World Tour, which spanned Japan, Scandinavia, entire Europe and Russia was complete they decided to call a hiatus, in all honestly not knowing what would happen next. All they knew was they needed to be with their families.
"Nine months of silence. After their joint-headline spot at Summerbreeze festival to over 35,000 people Sonic haven't played a single show since, declining tour offers to play with some of the worlds hugest bands. But all of this still hasn't been enough to stop their fans. The overwhelming amount of requests to see them live again have kept pouring in everyday since they announced the break. Sooner or later Sonic would have to comment something."
The band has now issued the following statement: More...

Sonic Syndicate Issues Update On Tour Dates
Vocalist Nathan James Biggs of Swedish act Sonic Syndicate has checked in with the following update about the band's upcoming activity:
"Boy did we have an eventful 2010! We released We Rule the Night, completed a 3 month tour (We Rule the World : The European Chapter), released 3 music videos, and to top it all off our single Revolution, Baby! went gold selling well over 10,000 copies in Sweden alone! Damn!
"Since then we've been taking a break for Christmas and rocking out with some friends and fam over the new year and now I've dragged my ass to Finland to party with my girl Niki from the BBQBarbies, Jussi from the 69eyes and also hooked up with the Nuclear Blast team over here - I sense many a late night! Its gonna be wild!

We're already planning out 2011 and can reveal that not only are we headed back to Russia to continue our We Rule The World Tour but we have confirmed some killer festivals including Summerbreeze where we will be headlining the 2nd stage! Oh, and a little something else! We're doing a tour of some of Europe's biggest arenas with the eXtreme Freestylers motocross team where we will be playing to thousands and thousands of people!

Sonic Syndicate Side Project Formed
Former Sonic Syndicate members Richard Sjunnesson (vocals) and Roland Johansson (vocals) have teamed up with current guitarist Roger Sjunnesson to form The Unguided. The band is preparing to release its debut two-track digital and physical single "Nightmareland" in February with a full length to follow near the end of the year. Richard Sjunnesson commented on the new project by saying:
"We already have about ten songs in the pipeline for the album and everything sounds really awesome! I will assure you it sounds nothing like the 'new' Sonic, and the people who liked the classic Syndicate will be familiar with the take on these songs, for sure. I don't think we ever wrote this many songs in such a short period of time. And I believe it's the fruit of having creative freedom and loving what we do — it certainly has upped the pace."
Hatebreed To Play Summer Breeze 2011
Hatebreed has been confirmed to perform at the 2011 edition of the Summer Breeze Open Air. The festival is set to take place from August 18th - 20th, and additional details can be found here. The organizers of the festival commented:
"Summer Breeze has already survived a few tremors over the last few years, but the most severe eruption of them all is yet to come. Hatebreed are gearing up to utterly destroy Dinkelsbühl in 2011 with their killer songs. No other band out there combines the attitude and aggression of hardcore and the uncompromising heaviness of metal in such a perfect way. Scene icon Jamey Jasta and his wrecking crew are the epitome of unleashed energy, the embodiment of credibility, the essence of groove, the purest form of brutality, the rulers of all pits and the blueprint for a whole generation, all rolled into one. Please welcome one of the most important and influential bands of the last decade for the first time at Summer Breeze! Hard, harder, Hatebreed!"
