Grave at Brutal Assault in 2025
The prime ministers of the United Kingdom may change, kings and queens can come and go, but no one’s taken the death metal throne from Benediction. And you’ll never see… heaven, but you’ll see Grave again in the Gdansk Shipyard in June. Unleashed and Severe Torture will also play at Mystic Festival in 2026. More...
Brutal Assault Unveils 23 Additional Bands

Legendary death metal act Carcass is set to make a triumphant return to the Fortress after a five-year hiatus. Joining them is Cytotoxin, promising an onslaught of toxic and brutal death metal. Death/goregrind force from Belgium Aborted will join the lineup alongside Sweden's Dark Tranquillity, renowned for their signature Gothenburg melodic death metal sound. Vltimas, the apocalypse riders, will complete this imaginary death metal circle.
American band Escuela Grind will bring chaos with their grindcore, followed by Misery Index and Rotten Sound, known for their mixes of death and grind genres. The onslaught will culminate with Pig Destroyer.
Representing the black metal genre are American act Akhlys, underground sensation Yellow Eyes, and folk psychedelic ensemble Hexvessel.
From the gothic scene, the lineup will welcome industrial favorites Deathsars and the post-punk-tinged Unto Others. Finnish melodic outfit Kalmah will arrive from the dark swamps, and heavy-rock-metal band Soil will come from overseas. Cynic, known as "tech metallers," will present a special Focus set in celebration of the re-release of their iconic debut album. Additionally, acts like Master Boot Record, with their 8-bit computer sounds, and the brutally honest post-hardcore group Svalbard will offer their unique musical perspectives.
Prepare for some hardcore action as Madball makes a comeback to Brutal Assault, after six years, promising a lively moshpit. Also making their debut at BA are established bands like Cancer Bats, Show Me The Body known for their innovative musical identity, and This Is Hell, recognized for their intense and energetic live performances in the metal punk scene.

The organizers of the upcoming Mountains of Death festival have checked in with the following update about the band lineup:
"The following bands are completing the line-up of Mountains of Death 2011: Incinerate (US), Modus Delicti (IT), To Violently Vomit (US), and Putrid Pile (US).
"All those who are giving themselves the trouble to check out the links on the billing list might wonder about the myspace address of To Violently Vomit... behind this name stands nobody less than the singular, legendary and since 1992 acitve Disgorge from San Diego... or at least the greater part of them! All the rest about disturbances and stories about the band you can read at another place and would go beyond the scope of this note.
"Almost unavoidable, there are some line-up changes. The following bands are not able to play: Ancient Necropsy (CO) and Ingurgitating Oblivion (DE)"
The festival takes place from August 18th - 20th in Switzerland, with full details available here. The complete lineup for Mountains of Death is now as follows: More...

They have an amazing bandroster and we can't wait to release our new album on the same label as Dillinger Escape Plan, Cynic, Morbid Angel, Watain and many others. We already had our share of label experience in the past, some good, some bad, and we have the feeling that working with Season of Mist is going to be a big step up for us! Merci beaucoup, motherfuckers!"

Dutch brutal death metallers, SEVERE TORTURE, have started the writing process for their next album, the follow-up to 2007's "SWORN VENGEANCE."
SEVERE TORTURE bassist PATRICK BOLEIJ discusses the band's recent activities:
"Here's a short update to let you all know what's been going on in the Severe Torture camp over the last couple of months. We've actually been working our asses off, writing the finest death metal tunes possible. We have about 6 songs down and riffs and ideas for 4 or 5 more. We'll be finishing those in the next 2 months. Musically it's gonna be one of the fastest, sickest and most brutal Severe Torture records ever! This stuff is gonna be fuelled by the sheer disgust of all the whimpy, lame-ass, fashion-crap that's been polluting the music industry for years. And it made us realize all the more what we love most... Playing brutal fuckin' death metal. The plan is to start pre-production in July and have everything ready for recording in September." More...
