Crematory To Release New Album In May 2025

Crematory, the pioneers of German gothic metal, has signed a new record deal with ROAR. With over three decades of influence and innovation in the international metal scene, Crematory are pleased to release their upcoming and previous albums with a strong and experienced partner. Fans can look forward to an exciting and extensive future with their heroes.

The band is currently working on finalizing their new studio album "Destination," which is scheduled for release on May 2, 2025. Fans can expect a return to the classic gothic metal style with lots of catchy hits. The album release will follow with an extensive tour of Germany. "The new studio album ‘Destination’ is an ingenious mix of the 90s gothic metal times like ‘Illusions’, combined with hard melodic death metal hymns like ‘Act Seven’ and modern electronic songs with German lyrics in the style of ‘Revolution’. More is not possible," says drummer Markus Jüllich happily and adds: "With ‘Destination’ the new standard of the modern melodic gothic metal era is determined! The previous album “Inglorious Darkness” was the start of Felix singing all the songs on his own again and now we've managed a perfect precision landing with “Destination”!"

Jochen Richert, Managing Director of ROAR, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration: “Welcoming the German gothic metal legends Crematory to ROAR feels good. In addition to the new studio album, we have the pleasure of releasing 14 catalog titles. The challenge here is that the tracks are not available digitally. We have worked out an extensive release schedule that will take place over the next two years. This is an exciting task that we are very happy to take on.” More...

Crematory Debuts "Trümmerwelten" Video

Shortly after dropping their new album, "Inglorious Darkness," at the end of May and entering the German charts at #17, the Gothic Metal veterans are releasing another single from their successful album. Standout track "Trümmerwelten" lyrically illustrates a dystopian scene, while opulent keyboards build epic melodies to create orchestral, symphonic soundscapes underlined by heavy drumming. The song comes with a dark music video visualizing the song’s atmosphere. "Trümmerwelten" is the fourth video for the current chart album "Inglorious Darkness." The band decided to post this video additionally after the release date, because the subject of the lyrics unfortunately fit much too well to the current situation with the Russian war. It’s their way to say "Fuck War - make music!"

Crematory on the chart entry:
"We are overjoyed and especially very grateful to our fans that even after more than 30 years of band history our fans are still so loyal and support us again and diligently bought records bought records, CD's and boxes. Fans are the most important thing a band needs and we have and we will never forget that, because you make our dream come true again and again. Many, many, many thanks!" More...

Crematory Releases New Music Video

German pioneers of European gothic metal Crematory have released a heart-wrenching version of the 90s ballad "Like The Tides" along with an atmospherically arranged music video.

With the cover version of this !distain classic, Crematory showcases another aspect of their musical expertise. The accompanying audio-visual features original !distain shots leading up to a vigorous symbiosis of expressive Crematory ambience and Connie Andreszka’s vocals.

Crematory is well known for their harsh wave of industrial metal and gothic dimness – but this cover version proves that they are maintaining versatility in the latest stage of their long career.
The music video presents both their passion for music and the melodic side of Crematory's musical identity. Their latest release, Unbroken, connects all shades - on the one hand underlining the significance of strength and determination, while on the other, remaining faithful to the darker and existential roots of the scene the band was born in in the 90s. Crematory pursue their conquest towards the dark Parnassus of gothic metal finesse, their spirit unbroken ready to face the challenges of life.

Markus Jüllich, Crematory, on the new single:
"This song has been a part of my life since the nineties and symbolizes an emotionally charged ballad, which is perfectly fitting for Crematory. I would say it’s like the 2.0 version of our ballad 'Perils of the wind!'" More...

Crematory Announces New Album Release

For 25 years now, Germany's gothic metal act Crematory have enthralled countless fans at home and abroad. Since forming in 1991, the band has released twelve studio albums, in addition to a number of live recordings, singles, EPs and compilations.

Crematory's upcoming thirteenth studio album "Monument" is now scheduled for global release via Steamhammer/SPV on April 15th, 2016 as a digi/2LP/download. The following press release was issued about this upcoming album:

"Infinitely more strongly than on its predecessor 'Antiserum' (2014), the twelve tracks on 'Monument' are based on brute guitar riffs and hard-as-nails drum grooves, replete with sinister keyboard hooks and that mix of growls and clear vocals - some in English, some in German - that is so typical of this band. The group's fans will be thoroughly delighted with Monument and its dynamic sound.

"When the work on 'Monument' commenced in spring 2015, a personnel issue had to be settled in the Crematory camp: Matthias Hechler, guitarist, clear voice and a style-defining member for 17 years, had left the band for private reasons. His departure went off without animosity or internal quarrels was confirmed by Matthias in an interview on the Live At Wacken 2014 DVD. Following his decision, Crematory made a virtue out of necessity, enlisting two successors: Tosse Basler (Scapegoat, Avalanche) joined the fold as rhythm guitarist and clear vocalist, and Rolf Munkes is Crematory's new lead guitarist."

"Tosse and Rolf have brought a breath of fresh air to the band, they've really inspired us with their powerful style and phat guitar sounds," rejoices drummer Markus Jüllich, who composed the songs again with producer Kristian "Kohl" Bonifer before going on to produce them together at the Kohlekeller Studio. Crematory Checks In From The Studio

Crematory just entered the Kohlekeller Studios to record new studio album "Monument," which will be released through Steamhammer/SPV just in time for the band's 25th anniversary in spring of 2016. The label comments:

"On the musical side the album is going to be harder and darker and a return to the band's roots! With their new effort 'Monument,' Crematory are taking four steps back, but at the same time, one step forward. They are returning to their good old gothic metal days in combination with the new established twin-guitar attack and their well-known talent for composing catchy tunes with keyboards and samples.

"On the lyrical hand, there will be the usual mix of German and English lyrics. Singer Felix went above and beyond on his vocal duties and the clean vocals will be handled by one of the new guitarists. This vocal co-operation will create a stir; as such a mix has never been heard in the scene or on any Crematory album!" More...

Crematory Recruits Two New Guitarists

Crematory just issued the following announcement about recruiting two new guitarists and working on a new album:

"Crematory found new guitarists! On one hand they found Tosse Basler, who's in the music business for over 30 years and played in bands like Poison Asp, Forty Shades, Scapegoat, Avalanche or Evolution, who's handling the rhythm guitar and the clean vocals.

"On the other hand, Rolf Munkes, who also has over 30 years of experience in the business, joined the band as their new lead guitarist. Rolf is also operating as a producer in his Empire Studios, were he worked with such acts as Majesty, Tony Martin (Ex-Black Sabbath), Neil Murray (Ex-Whitesnake & Ex-Gary Moore), Don Airey (Deep Purple) or Doogie White (Michael Schenker).

"More guitars means more metal! Creamtory will hit the Kohlekeller Studio again, in September, to record a new album with producer Kristian Bonifer. And this album will cause some great surprises in spring 2016, which also marks the band's 25th anniversary! Crematory will play several festivals in the Summer then!" More...

Crematory Reveals New Album Details

Crematory will release new album "Antiserum" on March 4th, 2014 via Steamhammer / SPV. Drummer Markus Jüllich explains:

"Our fans can look forward to Antiserum, on which we have gone one step further than we did on our comeback album Revolution in terms of electronic influences. In collaboration with Elmar Schmidt of Hamburg EBM act Centhron, we have come up with a haunting mix of metal riffs and EBM keyboards. That's why I'd refer to Antiserum's musical direction as 'EBM-Metal.'

"In the beginning it was more difficult than we'd thought. The sounds and samples that Elmar brought us had no really song structures, that's why we didn't have a central theme to start off with. It took us two or three songs to get in to the groove, but from that point on it was an extremely exciting process to work on the new material."

The Crematory drummer is referring to tracks such as "Virus" with its pulsating EBM flair, "Inside Your Eyes," and the first single release "Shadowmaker.

Markus also states: "Even before the whole record was finalized we knew that 'Shadowmaker' had absolute hit potential. We never had a moment's doubt that we had come up with the new Crematory anthem. More...
