In Flames And Bodom In Talks For Gigantour 2008
IN FLAMES and CHILDREN OF BODOM are in talks to play next year's Gigantour in North America, the tour's organizer, Dave Mustaine of MEGADETH, revealed during an appearance on the "Talking Metal on Fuse" show on Fuse TV this past Friday (November 9). Another act that may be taking part in the trek is the Arizona-based extreme metal group JOB FOR A COWBOY.
IN FLAMES is currently at its own IF Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden working on the follow-up to last year's "Come Clarity". All drums have been recorded and IN FLAMES is receiving assistance with the vocals from producer Daniel Bergstrand, who previously produced the vocals on "Reroute To Remain", "Soundtrack To Your Escape" and "Come Clarity".
A new IN FLAMES track, entitled "Abnegation", is featured on the "Viva La Bands, Vol. 2" album, which was released on September 4 via Ferret Music and Filthy Note Records.
CHILDREN OF BODOM recently entered Petrax Studio in Hollola, Finland with producer Mikko Karmila to begin recording its new album for an April 7, 2008 European release via Spinefarm Records. The CD, which will feature a guest appearance by Peter Tägtgren of HYPOCRISY and PAIN fame, will be preceded by a single on March 3, 2008. Songtitles set to appear on the album include "Pray for the Devil", "Good Morning Roadkill" and "Tie My Rope".
In Flames Extend Deal With Nuclear Blast Records
Swedish metallers IN FLAMES have inked a new deal with Nuclear Blast Records covering all territories outside North America. The group's new CD, which is currently being recorded at IF studios in Gothenburg, Sweden, is tentatively scheduled for release in April 2008.
Commented the band: "We are very happy that we have signed with Nuclear Blast again. They have been with us for a long time and helped us to get to where we are as a band right now. We have all the faith and belief in them to help us get even bigger as a band so we can continue to do this for years to come. "20 Years Of Nuclear Blast" Trailer Posted Online
A three-minute trailer for the forthcoming "20 Years of Nuclear Blast" two-DVD set can be viewed below. Due on November 30 via Nuclear Blast, the collection — as the title implies — celebrates the 20th anniversary of the German metal label, featuring two DVDs with almost six hours' worth of footage, including 70 promotional clips and a four-part history of the label hosted by DESTRUCTION bassist/vocalist Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer.

Swedish metallers IN FLAMES have been confirmed for Norway's Hove Festival which runs from June 24th-28th on the island Tromøy outside of Arendal in southern Norway. In Flames will be performing on June 27th.

All drums have been recorded and most of the bass is done. Rhythm guitars are nearing completion and the group is about to start laying down the solos. In Flames To Play Russia In January
Swedish metallers IN FLAMES have scheduled two dates in Russia in January 2008. The details are as follows:

In Flames Post Third Video Update

In Flames Finish Bass And Drums For New Album
Swedish metallers IN FLAMES are currently recording their ninth album at the band's own IF Studios in Gothenburg. They have just finished the pre production/rehearsals and are currently recording drums and bass and according to inside sources, "all is indeed going very well and the inspiration is flowing!"
The as-yet-untitled new album is expected to be released in the spring of 2008.
For the recording of the new album, In Flames and www.myspace.com have decided to work together and the entire recording is being documented, from the beginning to the end in the shape of a video diary. This diary features very exclusive footage from the day to day recordings and the shaping of the new album. A new episode will be online every Monday.
In Flames Prepare To Enter Studio
Swedish metallers IN FLAMES have issued the following update:
"So we have played the last show of the 'Come Clarity' tour. It has been amazing, and the whole band would like to send out a MASSIVE thank you to all of you who came to our shows. Without you guys it would be pretty boring to play live, that’s for sure.
"As you know you can all submit your own photos from any of the IN FLAMES shows you may have been at. All you have to do is email them to webmaster@inflames.com and they will be posted as soon as possible.
"If you think we are now all going on holiday and taking it easy you are all wrong…we are about to start pre-production/record the new album, which will be released next year at some point, hopefully around spring time. The new album will be recorded in IF Studios in Gothenburg.
"You can follow the entire recording step by step by checking in to www.myspace.com/inflames where a video diary will be shown. A new episode will be posted each Monday.
"The first episode will be up on September 10th so make sure to check in for that.

IN FLAMES was honored with the Swedish "Grammis" award in the "Best Hard Rock" category during a ceremony that was held on January 30 at Hovet in Stockholm. A total of five bands were nominated for their most recent releases, all of which came out during 2006.

Viva La Bands Vol 2 Complete Tracklisting Revealed
Bam Margera has made it his mission to expose an entire generation of his peers to some original high-energy music through his VIVA LA BANDS album and tour series. Brought to you by Ferret Music and Filthy Note Records, VIVA LA BANDS, VOL. 2 will hit stores on September 4, 2007.
The CD features exclusive tracks, written and recorded for the CD/DVD combo from some of Bam’s favorite acts like CLUTCH, IN FLAMES, CKY, CHILDREN OF BODOM, VIKING SKULL and VAINS OF JENNA. A US-exclusive track from SHINY TOY GUNS and music from other faves like GWAR, THE SOUNDS, DIMMU BORGIR and KILL HANNAH also appears on the killer compilation. Bam is as excited for the release as fans around the world will be… "I’m so fucking psyched that some of my favorite bands recorded exclusive songs this time around! Clutch and In Flames fucking rock and my brother Jess did a sick CKY remix. Obviously The Sounds are one of my favorite bands - my wife even insisted that they play our wedding. I also sent the first band I signed, Vains of Jenna, into the studio to record a new track for the record.”
The DVD component to this release contains almost an hour of never-before-seen Bam footage – a must-have for the ‘Jackass generation!’ Revealing what makes the DVD special, Bam adds “I’m finding some of my best, unused footage for the DVD. Everyone keeps asking me for a CKY5 but I think this DVD might be the closest thing to that!"
Viva La Bands’ companion tour will be taking out some of Bam’s favorite acts and is estimated to visit over 20 cities in the USA beginning in October 2007. Fans can also expect to see Bam and his friends at select shows.

UVTV Posts Ozzfest 2007 Kickoff Special
Underground Video Television (UVTV) has posted the Ozzfest 2007 Kickoff Special TV show at their website. The episode features live videos filmed throughout the Northeast of Ozzfest bands past and present including In Flames, Lacuna Coil, Mastodon, The Showdown, In This Moment, Throwdown, Hatebreed, Unearth, Strapping Young Lad, Bleeding Through, Devildriver, Shadows Fall, Trivium and Walls Of Jericho. The show can also be seen on i-Tunes by subscribing to the UVTV Podcast.
Ozzfest begins it’s tour July 12 in Seattle WA continuing through July & August.
In Flames Launch Studio Blog
Swedish metallers IN FLAMES have launched a blog via their official web site where they will post regular updates on the recording process for their next album, pictures from the studio and various live shows. Check it out at the official In Flames website.
IN FLAMES is currently in its studio doing pre-production/demos for the band's upcoming album, to be recorded later this year. The group has been working on new material since early May. The current sessions are taking place at IF Studio in Gothenburg, the same studio IN FLAMES used last time they did pre-production.
IN FLAMES was honored with the Swedish "Grammis" award in the "Best Hard Rock" category during a ceremony that was held on January 30 at Hovet in Stockholm. A total of five bands were nominated for their most recent releases, all of which came out during 2006. A video clip of IN FLAMES performing the song "Come Clarity" on the Swedish music awards show "Rockbjörnen" on January 11 in Stockholm, Sweden has been posted online at YouTube.com. The band's lineup for the performance included guitarists Björn Gelotte and Jesper Strömblad, who were both absent from the group's most recent U.S. tour.
Lacuna Coil And In Flames Talk Bloodstock
The headliners of the 2007 edition of the Bloodstock Open Air festival LACUNA COIL and IN FLAMES have commented on their participation in this year's event, which is scheduled to be held August 16-18 at Catton Hall in Derbyshire, England.
Said IN FLAMES bassist Peter Iwers: "Playing Bloodstock this year is a first time experience for us and itÂ’s hard to know what to expect, so we try to stay as relaxed as possible. We'll just get there and do our best and hope for a magnificent audience.
"Having played the U.K. before, we all know that the crowds always rock and we hope to see all the British IN FLAMES fans and their friends at the show. Also it's going to be a blast playing with such good friends as the guys in DARK TRANQUILITY, LACUNA COIL, ARCH ENEMY, etc”.
IN FLAMES is currently in pre-production for its new album, which is scheduled for release next year. The CD will be recorded in the newly built IF studios. The band is also playing various festivals in Europe this summer along with two shows supporting heavy metal giants IRON MAIDEN.
LACUNA COIL frontman Andrea Ferro had the following to say regarding his band's headlining appearance on the Friday night at Bloodstock Open Air: "Our last tour in the U.K. was a blast and it is about time for us to come back and have a great fucking time at the Bloodstock festival! It's our first appearance and we are really thrilled to see some of the old friends and a lot of new people. We will be ready to rock that stage and we expect the same from you guys. See ya there!!"

BAM MARGERA PRESENTS…VIVA LA BANDS, VOL 2 is the latest in the skating/antic superstar’s unique musical vision shared with his fans. In addition to previously announced unreleased tracks from CLUTCH, CKY, and VAINS OF JENNA, exclusive additions to the track listing from IN FLAMES, CHILDREN OF BODOM, PLACEBO and THE BLOODHOUND GANG have just come in!
Jimmy Pop explains how THE BLOODHOUND GANG’s ‘romantic’ contribution to the compilation, "Screwing You On The Beach At Night" fits in (or doesn’t, in this case)… "I love so many of the bands on Viva La Bands 2. It's unfortunate that our contribution sticks out like a sore thumb. A big, gay, sore thumb." Placebo is also glad, albeit less comically, to be on the compilation, "Placebo is pleased that 'Soulmates' was hand-selected by Bam Margera to be a part of this project. He has exceedingly good taste," the band adds.
The CD/DVD combo will hit stores on September 4, 2007 and feature these unreleased tracks and much more. The compilation also brings together many of Bam’s other favorite artists such as GWAR, DIMMU BORGIR and THE SOUNDS, as well as newly acquired tracks from KILL HANNAH, VIKING SKULL, AND GNARKILL. Underground Video Television (UVTV) had the chance to chat with Sweden’s metal powerhouse IN FLAMES’ lead vocalist Anders Friden to talk about the band and how they came to be. Anders explains the convoluted story of his entrance into the band, the relationship of several other bands in Sweden to IN FLAMES & the sharing & switching of band members in the complicated story of the emergence of IN FLAMES to international fame in the Metal community.
