Swedish metallers IN FLAMES have issued the following update:

"So we have played the last show of the 'Come Clarity' tour. It has been amazing, and the whole band would like to send out a MASSIVE thank you to all of you who came to our shows. Without you guys it would be pretty boring to play live, that’s for sure.

"As you know you can all submit your own photos from any of the IN FLAMES shows you may have been at. All you have to do is email them to webmaster@inflames.com and they will be posted as soon as possible.

"If you think we are now all going on holiday and taking it easy you are all wrong…we are about to start pre-production/record the new album, which will be released next year at some point, hopefully around spring time. The new album will be recorded in IF Studios in Gothenburg.

"You can follow the entire recording step by step by checking in to www.myspace.com/inflames where a video diary will be shown. A new episode will be posted each Monday.

"The first episode will be up on September 10th so make sure to check in for that.

"Until then, thanks again for making 2006/2007 awesome years for us."

IN FLAMES was honored with the Swedish "Grammis" award in the "Best Hard Rock" category during a ceremony that was held on January 30 at Hovet in Stockholm. A total of five bands were nominated for their most recent releases, all of which came out during 2006.

A new song by In Flames got leaked. Its called Abnegation. Its easily the worst song by them I have ever heard. They need to get back to their older style which made them great.

I'm excited to hear what they can come up with, but I do agree that their last few have gone a bit crazy. Whoracle and Jester Race were some great records. I don't want to say that they need to go back to that because I want something different, but their musicianship was so much better then than it is now.

^ Agreed.

Abnegation takes the worst parts of STYE and Come Clarity and fuses them together in a big Swedesh Emo Fest. I would die to hear them reintroduce their old thrash and power metal roots.

Such anger for having part of the word pacifist in your name.

I'll agree that Clayman was the last cd I really saw as "In Flames," but I like Reroute to Remain, and some of STYE and Come Clarity, it just wasn't the Gothenburg band they used to be.

why must compare albums? I like all theirs. If a band put out the same material, that would kind of be boring. Dont get me wrong, then there is the metallica side of the coin......
