Lost Society Shares "Stitches" Music Video
Finnish modern metal squad Lost Society recently shook the scene with "112," the first single from their upcoming album "If The Sky Came Down," set to be released on September 30th via Nuclear Blast Records.
With new track "Stitches" the band delivers a heavy pounding anthem for any modern metalhead out there, while addressing serious mental health issues.
Front man Samy Elbanna stated about the song:
"Chapter 5 continues, and we’re heading deeper inside the human mind.
Stitches talks about something that is more than familiar for so many people. The fact that no matter how hard you try to mask your traumas and past scars, they always find a way of haunting you until you come head to head with them all. Sometimes you just have to pull out your stitches and let all the blood and hurt come out, before you can finally start healing."
He continued about the video:
"Vita Pictura has once again delivered a true masterpiece. Once again the intensity and true anguish of the track gets an incredible visual representation, and the viewers will definitely feel what this song is all about. The video has us in scenes of near insanity, but also in our most free state. Just as the lyric says, we feel trapped by our past, until we rip off the last remaining stitches to let it all out and realise we’re not alone." More...
Lost Society Reveals New Album Details
Only two years after their incredibly successful latest album "No Absolution," Finnish modern metal squad Lost Society have come back ferociously with the first single from their upcoming manifesto "If The Sky Came Down," set to be released on September 30th via Nuclear Blast.
Front man Samy Elbanna shares some insights:
"The upcoming album is a portrayal of how you see the world after you have come to terms with the fact that all hope has been lost. A world where all your insecurities and worst fears come to life.
"It’s my story, and '112' is where it all begins. It’s the moment you realise your life has started to unravel and you can finally be fully honest with yourself and admit: you’re not okay. There’s something incredibly purifying and serene about letting go, and finally starting to build something new. Since writing the lyrics and chorus to this song, it was clear that this was the first song people have to hear from the album." More...

"A lot has happened since the release of our second album; we've played loads of sick shows and we've definitely matured as songwriters and as musicians. We were beyond stoked to announce our new album »Braindead«! I'd have to say that this album truly shows what Lost Society is all about, and it's filled with the tightest, heaviest and most aggressive stuff we've EVER done.
"This album has the slowest songs and the fastest songs we've ever done and one thing is for sure: this will make you wanna go crazy! The album title itself is a portrayal of us in many ways, 'Braindead' has come to be another way of saying Lost Society, and it came to us as a natural decision to make it the title for what we feel is the best material we have ever made. Lost Society Unveils New Album Artwork
The third album by Finland-based thrash metallers Lost Society, titled "Braindead," will be released on February 12th, 2016 via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band released the cover artwork for the upcoming album, created by Jan Meininghaus. Guitarist/vocalist Samy Elbanna states:
"Jan really nailed it again! We were stoked to have the dude illustrate the cover of the new album, and I think he really captured the theme of the album in this artwork. The idea is pretty simple, in many ways ‘Braindead’ talks about all kinds of fucked up scenarios and of how we're trapped in this braindead society. Cheers to Jan!"
Artist Jan Meinighaus added: "When I had another look at it today, I really liked the old school appeal of it. In combination with the given logo, everything reminds me of the classic releases I loved in the late 80s. It sure looks a bit ’airbrushed’ and over the top, but that’s exactly what I like about it in comparison to a lot of artworks that should be movie posters or videogame covers rather than thrash metal art." Roundtrip To Hel, Part II
[Continued from Part I]
SATURDAY, 6/28 - 13:30
“That’s a killer e-cig; where’d you pick it up?”
Actually, the stranger on the bus doesn’t say that. At least not in English. And judging from his condescending glare from a row up and across the aisle, I’m thinking he doesn’t approve.
I exhale the last puff of vapor toward the ceiling and shrug uncomfortably.
Rachel exchanges a few words with him, nudges me on the shoulder. “He’s definitely not from here - I can’t recognize his accent - but he says you’re not allowed to do that on the bus.”
“If he’s not from here, why’s he lecturing other people on the rules?” I shoot the man a neutral nod. “This stuff isn’t affecting him.” Still, I put it away. Some people, man. Busybodies.
Through my vest pocket, I finger the boxy outline of the pack of Marlboro Reds I bought last night after I caved. Post-Dimmu, our gearing-down at Nikky’s place a few blocks away became a relaxed, languid, drawn-out gab session, leading us to miss the afterparty band, Amorphis. For shame. Harakiri shame.
Instead, we ended up at PRKL, another rock club, well after midnight. After buying the pack and stepping outside to smoke one, I nearly got myself flattened by a passing street tram. That was probably some kind of sign. More...
