Civil War Signs With Napalm Records
Swedish metal act Civil War, featuring former Sabaton members (Daniel Myhr – keyboard, Oskar Montelius - guitar, Rikard Sundén – guitar, Daniel Mullback – drums), has inked a deal with Napalm Records. The band also features bassist Stefan "Pizza" Eriksson (Volturyon) and singer Nils Patrik Johansson (Astral Doors/Lion's Share/Wuthering Heights).
The debut full length album "The Killer Angels" received excellent feedback worldwide (see review here) and was certified gold in Sweden. The band is expecting big things for this year.
The band commented: "We are more than happy to sign with Napalm Records, one of the best labels in the world. Our intention is to deliver Heavy Metal under the Napalm flag for many years. The civil war has only just begun."

Civil War Posts "Gettysburg" Music Video
Civil War - the band formed by former Sabaton members Rikard Sundén, Oskar Montelius, Daniel Mullback and Daniel Mÿhr along with Astral Doors/Wuthering Heights vocalist Nils Patrik Johansson, posted a new music video for the track "Gettysburg."
The video is a tribute to the 150th Anniversary of the famous American Civil War battle. The song appears on the latest LP "The Killer Angels" out now on Despotz Records (see review here).
On the video the band commented: "This is from us to you. To honor the memory of the 150th anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg and a small poof of appreciation for the fantastic support you have showed us. Here you go: Gettysburg - the video. Featuring clips from our different shows we did this summer. We traveled across our native Sweden and a short stop in wonderful Budapest, Hungary this summer doing show after show with a response noone could dream of. Thank you for your support, bow your head in respect for the one who lost their life so many years ago on the battlefield of Gettysburg. We salute YOU!"

Civil War's Album Certified Gold In Sweden
Civil War (the symphonic power metal band from ex-Sabaton members Rikard Sundén, Oskar Montelius, Daniel Mullback, and Daniel Myhr, along with frontman Nils Patrik Johansson and bass player Stefan "Pizza" Eriksson) is proud to announce that debut album "The Killer Angels" has been certified Gold in the band's home country of Sweden, selling more than 20,000 copies.
The members of Civil War were presented with their Gold plaques before headlining the Metal War festival in Budapest last weekend. Commented the band:
"Selling 20,000-plus in our home country is something none of us could ever imagine when getting into the sessions leading up to the album. Even though we felt we made a solid record, getting these numbers was still something we couldn't predict upon our wildest imagination."
"We at Despotz are incredibly proud to have reached 'Gold' status in Sweden with the band Civil War," added Despotz Records founder, Ömer Akay. "The band has received great international support from their fans, and it shows with growing sales and upcoming tours as a result. This is just the beginning of a brilliant career. Rommelrock Festival Cancelled
The upcoming Rommelrock festival, which was to take place Friday and Saturday in Maasmechelen, Belgium, was cancelled. According to the promoters, the mayor of the town enforced a decision made back in May, in which he refused to issue a permit on the grounds that that the festival would cause unsafe conditions.
The announcement reads: "To our greatest regret, Rommelrock is forced to cancel the whole event. Seven years of intense labour, the spotless reputation, legal terms and liberties, in vain... Two court sessions made little difference... [The] mayor steps in to enforce the prohibition to organize Rommelrock, refuses to issue a license to permit Rommelrock 2013... such an improbable tale, as the decision of the Maasmechelen mayor made on May 13, 2013, is maintained, on so-called grounds of safety and public order... A boiling cauldron that spawned the anti-rommelrock story!
"Despite all the efforts taken and the fact we have the law and justice at our side according to the law and the constitution itself, the struggle ended in the worst possible way, forcing us to pull the plug out of this year's Rommelrock.
"We wish to express our deepest respect to all that supported us, and we apologize in the same time to all that suffered because of all this, despite all perseverance and tenacity.
We never wanted to see Rommelrock 2013, a special edition with exclusive shows and such, to end in this way."

Civil War Streaming "Gettysburg"
Civil War, the new symphonic power metal band featuring ex-Sabaton members, has uploaded the song "Gettysburg" to Soundcloud in celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the historic battle.

"The Battle of Gettysburg. 150 years have passed since it took place, but still today it's one of the greatest battles in history," commented the band. Civil War Added To Getaway Rock Festival
Sweden's Civil War, who just issued the debut full length LP "The Killer Angels" (see review at this location), have been added to the lineup for the Getaway Rock Festival, to be held on August 8-10, 2013 in Gasklockorna, Gavle Sweden. The festival includes appearances from over 60 bands, including System of a Down, In Flames, Deep Purple and Lamb Of God.
The band made the announcement: "We are very happy to announce that we will do a show in Gävle and Getaway Rock Festival on August 10. This year’s line-up includes System Of A Down, Deep Purple, In Flames, Testament, Gojira among others. Furthermore, we want to send out a huge thank you to all of you who supported us with getting our album. We are overwhelmed with the reception you’ve given it, we salute YOU!"

Civil War is streaming the new track "I Will Rule The Universe." The song is about a certain French general known as Napoleon and his vision about how he would become more powerful than god and as of that rule the universe…
"The Killer Angels" was recorded at Studio Myhrer (the bed and living room of keyboard player Myhr), with drum recordings made at the legendary studio The Abyss/Black Lounge by Jonas Kjellgren. Artwork for the album was created by artist Lukasz Jaszak.

Civil War, the band comprised of ex-Sabaton members Rikard Sundén (guitars), Oskar Montelius (guitars), Daniel Mullback (drums) and Daniel Mÿhr (keyboards) along with vocalist Nils Patrik Johansson (Astral Doors/Wuthering Heights) and bassist Stefan "Pizza" Eriksson (Volturyon/Ex-Cryonic Temple), have announced that the band's first full length release will be entitled "The Killer Angels." The album is set for release on June 11, 2013 (standard CD/digital) via Despotz Records.
The album will also be avilable as a limited edition combo vinyl/CD pack limited edition of the album come with both Vinyl (2 x 12" black vinyl) and CD, packaged in an exclusive 6 page gatefold pack, and feature an exclusive bonus song; "March Across The Belts".

The band is currently writing songs for a debut EP targeted for the fall of 2012 followed up by a full length debut in 2013.
