Deceased Re-Releasing "Fearless Undead Machines"
Deceased's "Fearless Undead Machines" - originally released in 1997 - is now getting a new edition arriving on June 10th via Transcending Obscurity Classics. The label comments:
"'Fearless Undead Machines' is one of the landmark albums in the thrash/death metal style. While the first two Deceased albums were great, this one just took the band to another level altogether. The surreal zombie concept was phenomenally well done and executed; each of the songs reek of that dread and pensive heart-throbbing atmosphere.
"The solos continue to be incredibly memorable and inspiring, the vocals shudder with that rare horror-themed conviction, the drumming remains brisk and vibrant throughout, while the guitarists paint a thrilling image of the post-apocalyptic zombie-infested world with some of the most sublime riffs any metalhead will ever hear.
"Few albums have come close to the ambitious storytelling skills and majesty of this one. Even fewer sound as fresh and exciting a couple of decades later. This is a veritable classic.
"The original artwork and sound have been retained on this official reissue authorized by King Fowley, and contains special liner notes and pictures that weren't present in the first pressing. Experience an unforgettable classic in its original glory all over again.
This is the second release on the new sub-label, Transcending Obscurity Classics, after Greek death/crust metal band Abyssus' "Once Entombed" earlier this year year. More...

In recent news, Deceased announced work on a new album for Hells Headbangers, entitled "Ghostly White." King Fowley had the following to say about the forthcoming album:
"This record will be a very produced musical journey that will capture the complete morbid side of Deceased. If we do what we are setting out to do, it will ooze of dark melody without forgetting the rough aggressive edges and catchiness in the songwriting that we've kept in our sound since day one. There will be a complete haunting aura throughout the record! A few songs will be lengthy tracks, including a 15-minute ride. Fitting interludes will lock in the actual tracks, and little jolts of madness will also rear their ugly heads from time to time. This is a musical adventure we've been waiting to take, and now's the time. Get out your woolen overcoats, the funeral is about to begin...." More...

Deceased Reissuing "Supernatural Addiction"
Today, Hells Headbangers reissues Deceased's classic "Supernatural Addiction" on CD, with an LP version coming January 23rd. The Goregrowler's Ball 5, Day 2
Day one of The Goregrowler’s Ball came and went without any hitches. Day two promised even more gore-gurgling delights. This day started earlier than Friday’s 5:30 start time. Originally scheduled for a 1:30 start time, the promoter pushed the start time back to 2:30. Prog death artists, Vex took this early slot, which we unfortunately missed. Comatose Records was on full display, as it was throughout the weekend, with Atrocious Abnormality. Said band played a brutal slab of unmerciful, brutal death metal featuring label head, Steve Green.
Ibex Moon Records, owned by John McEntee of Incantation, also made its presence known on the second day. Cardiac Arrest produced grimy, churning death metal in the vein of Autopsy and Grave. The Chicago act switched between rotten-limb-stiffening slow jams and all-out-blast fests provided by new drummer Nick Gallichio. Adam Scott, Tom Knizner, Dave Holland joined low and mid-range scathing voices to narrate grisly tales from the group’s three recordings. Set highlights include the frantic pace of “Insanity’s Grip,” and the ominous, full-moon-blooming groove of “Affliction of the Beast.”
Fellow Ibex Moon label and former tour mates, Hod took the hell-raising chaos outside. Hod was in fine form, performing its perfected blend of death, thrash, black, speed and all-things-metal (“We’re Hod and we play fucking metal”) style. The Central Texas act showcased material from its sole album, “Serpent.” The said album has been out for two years, so one would expect new material. Locals familiar with Hod knew the band well, so their new songs came without surprise. However, those from out of town delighted in hearing new tracks such as “Den of Wolves.” Look for a new record in 2012. More...

Other bands to be featured on the soundtrack include Manilla Road, Nasty Savage, Deceased, Oz, Hobbs' Angel of Death, Black Death, Borrowed Time, and more. More...
