Rico The Zombie is a Canadian actor and tattoo model instantly recognizable by his skeletal tattoos that cover his entire body. Tattooed as the living dead , Rico the Zombie also worked in various sideshows and freak shows across Canada as an illustrated man, fakir, geek, as well as self-declared clown. In September 2012 Zombie Boy became the face of the iconic Jay-Z music fashion label Rocawear for its re-launch in Europe.
Rico was also featured in Lady Gaga's video for "Born This Way," with Lady Gaga wearing makeup to replicate Genest's tattoos. He was cast as the character "foreman" in the film 47 Ronin, the samurai fantasy action film starring Keanu Reeves, which was released in late 2013. More...

As Riggs states, “Being that this is 2012 and the end of the world and all, I thought the Scum of the Earth sound has ran its course, so I re invented the sound with the help of a producer/programmer by the name Volkstroker. We worked on the songs for eight months and this was the end result. Check it out before you turn into a zombie. Cheers!”
The vile and despicable mob of macabre is fronted by former Rob Zombie guitarist Riggs, whose artistry and musical vision birthed Scum of the Earth's debut in 2003, which hit hard on topics of lust, carnage, and debauchery strewn across a sanguinary soundscape, with cranium-cracking power and infectious rhythms. SCUM OF THE EARTH's latest CD, "Sleaze Freak", was released on October 23, 2007. The explicit (PA) version of the album was made available at most retailers containing an added DVD video. "It's a much more intense collection of material than 'Blah…Blah…Blah…'" said Riggs. "We did everything we wanted to do this time around, which allowed us to really embody the whole red-light-district sleazy vibe into the material."

"We will be on the road from around February untill the end of time... If you are interested, post a comment here and we will review your profile. If you have any video or audio of you playing bass, post it on your profile and we will check it out... If you are someone we know, give us a call!"

SCUM OF THE EARTH, fronted by former Rob Zombie guitarist, Riggs, is gearing up for another explosive assault with SLEAZE FREAK, the follow up to 2004's critically acclaimed BLAH...BLAH...BLAH...LOVE SONGS FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM, which spawned the band’s first hit single, “Get Your Dead On.”
A long time in the making, SLEAZE FREAK will be released October 23 on Eclipse Records, just in time for Halloween. Riggs' comrades in Scumdom are Brandon (bass, background vocals), Skylar (guitar), and Adrian Ost (drums).
“Bombshell From Hell” is SLEAZE FREAK’s first single, which is going for radio adds October 15. A performance video for the track—directed by Ron Najor (Angels & Airwaves)--was recently shot in Los Angeles and should invade TV and Internet airwaves within the next couple of weeks.
SLEAZE FREAK—which was written and produced by Riggs--contains 13 new songs (including “I Am Monster,” “Macabro Expectaculo” and “Corpse Grinders”), a cover and 28-page full-color booklet with exclusive artwork by self-proclaimed “Freakazoid” artist Paul Garner, plus a bonus 30-minute DVD packed with unbridled, no-holds-barred confessions by Riggs, featuring behind-the-scenes footage of Riggs and the band. Myspace.com diva and metal goddess, Metal Sanaz, also appears on the DVD, recording her vocals on “Love Pig.” She’s been posting video blogs of the band from recording sessions shot at Studio 2100 in Springfield, MO since June.
Most of the songs on the new album were recorded with Riggs' one-of-a-kind "Skin" guitar. It's a custom Fernandes Vertigo guitar wrapped in real pigskin that’s been sewn together. Riggs is planning to have various artists tattoo the pigskin in the future. Two tattoos currently decorate the guitar: one of a skull and crossbones and one with the words “fuck you” along the top which only Riggs can see when he’s playing the guitar.
“I wanted it to look like ‘Leatherface’ from ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre,’ except on a guitar,” explains Riggs. “I’ll have it forever, so I’m planning on having a bunch of artists put tattoos on it. Hopefully it’ll be a few years before it starts to fall apart, although it’s already starting to smell and rot a little. But it’s still cool. It also kind of looks like Freddy Kruger’s face.”
He is also the owner and creator of another one-of-a-kind guitar made by Fernandes--a lucite one filled with fake blood, which can be seen in the “Bombshell From Hell” video. “I put it together with the president of Fernandes years ago,” says Riggs. “We messed around with water to make sure it wouldn’t spill out when I played it. It sounds amazing.”
The new music, 13 tracks of searing stripper-metal, capitalizes on the same formula which worked perfectly on BLAH...BLAH...BLAH..., but with more guitar solos, slick, percussive bass lines and Riggs' trademark blood-steeped lyrics. The first single, “Bombshell From Hell,” flaunts a hard-driving, instrumentally lacerating sound, which screams out to the world, letting us know that SCUM OF THE EARTH are unleashed and getting their dead on once again.
For Riggs, making music with SCUM OF THE EARTH is like bringing things full circle, many times over. As he explains, “It’s hard starting over again, because I’ve been in bands for 17 years. I started off as a teenager in the band Screw in 1990. We even got to do our first record with Ministry, who were recording in the same studio as us. Then I was in Prong for about a year before meeting Rob Zombie and joining his band. I went from sleeping in a van to a huge tour bus, back to a van and now I own my own tour bus! After I left Rob’s band I knew I had to start over again. I’m excited to have SCUM OF THE EARTH as my very own and I’m anxious to get out there and promote the hell out of our music. It’s such a good feeling to know that I don’t have to answer to anyone anymore except myself.”
SCUM OF THE EARTH, featuring former long-time Rob Zombie guitarist Riggs, just recently finished mixing their new album entitled Sleaze Freak on Eclipse Records. The album follows-up the critically-acclaimed debut Blah…Blah…Blah…Love Songs For The New Millennium released in 2004. Riggs recently described the album as:“heavy-as-hell grinding, stripper-rock. It’s a much more intense collection of material than Blah…Blah…Blah. We did everything we wanted to do this time around, which allowed us to really embody the whole red-light-district sleazy vibe into the material."

Scum of the Earth (featuring former Rob Zombie guitarist RIGGS) have revealed the cover art for their upcoming Sleaze Freak album to be released by Eclipse Records, this Summer. The cover image is one of seventeen original acrylic works done by renowned horror-caricature artist Paul Garner, exclusively for Scum of the Earth's follow-up album to their 2004 debut "Blah...Blah...Blah...Love Songs for The New Millennium". Each of the different images illustrate the album's "Red Light District" concept, with the booklet featuring one image for each song, plus a few extras.
When asked where the ideas for the art came from, Garner replied "As I recall, Riggs and I started with a kind of freakshow idea which mutated into the sleazy Amsterdam red light district concept which worked out much better. With the booklet art we've created a mini Sleaze Freak arcade... I love how the girls on display in the windows have turned out. They're a really cool 'n' trashy cast of characters. Riggs and Brandon make appearances as the creepy clients skulking around the arcade looking for action.". Riggs also chimed in, "For the cover art specifically, there were a lot of revisions we had to go through. I remember a few times where we'd come up with a version, then our label would run it by their distributor and come back to us saying it was too explicit, or the chick didn't have enough clothes on, whatever... stupid censorship crap but finally we got to a point where the label and distro were happy. You know, some stores don't want the right-wing religious folks organizing protests and all that shit."
The band is currently finishing up the Sleaze Freak album at Studio 2100 in Springfield, MO and they expect to be finished mixing by June 1st.
Scum of the Earth (featuring x Rob Zombie guitarist Riggs) is currently wrapping up recording sessions for the band's second album entitled SLEAZE FREAK, to be released by Eclipse Records later this year. "We decided to write 2 more songs for the album, so after wrapping up preliminary tracking at Belt of Orion studios in Los Angeles, we took a little break to write some more material", said Riggs. "I also needed to take care of a few things back home so we postponed recording for sessions for 2 months and now we have resumed, it's great to be back to working on getting Sleaze Freak wrapped up and into the hands of the fans, we've got some great new shit to record."
The band is currently at Studio 2100 in Springfield, MO to finish tracking and mixing the new album, and expect to be finished by June 1st. When asked about a street date, Riggs replied "Eclipse hasn't set one yet. Everybody's been asking, but it makes sense what they're doing, not setting the street date until we hand over the finished masters. Plus it's allowing us to be a lot more creative, taking our time and not having a deadline looming over our heads... up until now."
"Sleaze Freak" tentative track listing (not in order):
01. Bombshell From Hell
03. Love Pig
04. Hate X 13
05. Macabro Expectaculo
06. I Am Monster
07. Sleaze Freak

Scum of the Earth (featuring former Rob Zombie guitarist RIGGS) have announced that Ivan DePrume has joined the band. When asked about his decision to join the band, the original White Zombie drummer explained "when Riggs approached me about joining the band, I was like "when do we start touring?". Then he explained that the new album "Sleaze Freak" was just about to be recorded and he wanted me to learn the songs, meet up in LA and lay down drum tracks, so I had all these songs I had to learn in just a few weeks, record my ideas and send em back to Riggs, it all happened so fast...". Riggs continued, "I got Ivan's ideas and loved them, told him he's in and when/where we'd be recording and the rest is history (in the making). He's a perfect fit for the vibe of the band, especially musically. He's an amazing drummer and we're all looking forward to having him on board as a part of the team."
The band will begin recording "Sleaze Freak" on February 13th at Belt of Orion Studios in Los Angeles, CA. sleaze Freak is scheduled for release sometime in Spring/Summer of 2007 through Eclipse Records.
SCUM OF THE EARTH, the band featuring former ROB ZOMBIE guitarist Riggs, has posted four new demo samples without vocals on its official MySpace page.
SCUM OF THE EARTH recently tapped renowned U.K. concept artist Paul Garner to create the cover art for the band's upcoming second release, tentatively entitled "Sleaze Freak". Paul's probably best known for his work on everything from tattoo and t-shirt design to movie/music magazine illustration to giant murals and sideshow banners, and co-designing, producing and directing the Gawkagogo Bizarre Cabaret and Theatre shows throughout London and the U.K. He's also worked with Richard O' Brien ("Rocky Horror Picture Show") and Clive Barker. Paul's style peers behind the curtain of a sinister sideshow underworld where cartoon geeks, zombie kids, and unspeakable things from the slab mingle menacingly with the ones that the Scooby Doo gang let get away. When Riggs was asked about his decision to work with Paul, he said "He's an amazing artist, I thought his artwork looked real sleazy, trashy and basically seemed like a visual embodyment of what this album's all about... sleaze, filth, depraivety, and the dark perversion of the world. The red light district in Amsterdam, has this vibe... in my opinion, it's like the Disneyland of the Universe, and Sleaze Freak will be our attempt to bring that vibe to the fans, through the music and the art. There might be some other artists as well..."
Scum of the Earth is the brainchild of former longtime Rob Zombie guitarist, Riggs. The debut album, "Blah...Blah...Blah...Love Songs" received critical acclaim in the US and sales out-performed more than 88% of all other albums released last year, according to Nielsen Soundscan. The band is currently in pre-production, and scheduled to begin recording sessions in January, 2007.
Scum of the Earth, featuring x-Rob Zombie guitarist RIGGS have begun pre-production on their follow-up to the successful debut album, "Blah...Blah...Blah... Love Songs for the New Millennium." The new album is planned to be released by Eclipse Records in late 2006. The band states on their official website that "We have started pre-production for the new scum CD. There are 8 songs finished so far, and it's turning out to be a bone-crushing, stripper extravaganza... We have a temp title of SLEAZE FREAK, among others. Check back soon for more updates...".
Label president Chris Poland says, "I have heard some demo tracks of 3-4 tunes that Riggs emailed me on mp3 and i have to say I haven't stopped playing them on my PC. They are the sickest guitar grinds and go-go beats I have heard yet from this amazing musician who's creativity seems to know no boundaries. While some are heavy and pulse-oriented as you might expect, others are quite eerie and almost surreal in nature, a true contrast from song to song, and I just can't wait to hear the finished product. I know the legions of fans will be pleased with the end result."
DEAD BY WEDNESDAY, the band founded by former Gargantua Soul drummer OPUS, have announced Jägermeister's 'Biggest, Sickest, Meanest...Drink, Fight, Fuck Tour."
