Vallenfyre Wants You To "Kill All Your Masters"
Crusty death / doom outfit Vallenfyre will release third album, "Fear Those Who Fear Him," via Century Media Records on June 2nd. Now, the band proudly presents the first single and video clip for this opus.
Greg Mackintosh (vocals and guitar) comments: “’Kill All Your Masters’ is about the frustration and anger we feel towards the many people and regimes in positions of power, whether it be political, religious or corporate, inflicting crimes and injustices on an often docile and enslaved population, who in many ways seem happy to be told what to do by anything from ancient books to lifestyle magazines.”
Recorded by the band’s new core line-up consisting of Greg Mackintosh (vocals and guitar), Hamish Glencross (guitar and bass), and Waltteri Väyrynen (drums), “Fear Those Who Fear Him” was once produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Nails, etc.) at GodCity Studio in Salem, MA and mastered by Brad Boatright (Obituary, Beastmilk, YOB) at Audiosiege Mastering in Portland, OR.

Vallenfyre Reveals New Album Artwork, Release Date
U.K. crusty death/doom outfit Vallenfyre has set June 2nd as release date for its third album "Fear Those Who Fear Him," which drops via Century Media Records.
Recorded by the band's new core line-up consisting of Gregor Mackintosh (vocals and guitar), Hamish Glencross (guitar and bass) and Waltteri Väyrynen (drums), "Fear Those Who Fear Him" was once again produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Nails, etc.) at GodCity Studio in Salem, MA and mastered by Brad Boatright (Obituary, Beastmilk, YOB) at Audiosiege Mastering in Portland, OR. The cover artwork (shown below) was created by Hal Rotter.
Greg Mackintosh comments: "Most bands refine their sound over the first 2 or 3 albums. Becoming more technically adept and honing their craft. Vallenfyre have done almost exactly the opposite. We have devolved, made things simpler and crush most of the melody under swathes of rotting noise. From 'A Fragile King' to 'Splinters' and now to 'Fear Those Who Fear Him,' we have become more savage, more raw and less compromising!"
"Fear Those Who Fear Him" will be released as Gatefold LP+CD on limited colored and black 180 gram vinyl, as a special edition digipak (international version), Jewelcase CD (Canada, USA, Mexico only) and on all digital/streaming platforms.
Inspired by the likes of Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Autopsy, Antisect, Discharge, Nihilist/Entombed, early Napalm Death, early Bathory, and Conflict, Vallenfyre has forged a trademark sound between rotting death metal driven by a chainsaw like guitar sound, filthy doses of crust and early grind as well as crushing, depraved doom.
The track listing is as follows:
1. Born To Decay (01:48)
2. Messiah (02:00)
3. Degeneration (03:10)
4. An Apathetic Grave (05:54)
5. Nihilist (01:56)
6. Amongst The Filth (03:26)

8. The Merciless Tide (05:15)
9. Dead World Breathes (00:40)
10. Soldier Of Christ (03:12)

Vallenfyre Recording New Album
Crusty death / doom metal outfit Vallenfyre has returned to GodCity Studios in frozen Salem, MA to record the follow-up to sophomore album "Splinters" (2014). The new album is entitled "Fear Those Who Fear Him" and will see the band recording as a three piece for the first time.
Joining stalwarts Gregor Mackintosh (Vocals, Guitar) and Hamish Glencross (Guitar, Bass) on the new record is Waltteri Väyrynen (Drums) with Kurt Ballou (Converge, Nails, etc.) once again taking the helm as producer.
Gregor Mackintosh (Vocals, Guitar) comments: “12 songs. No samples. No triggers. No bullshit. Instead you get crucifyingly loud amps, ferocious drumming, and vicious vocals spitting out hate and venom. Raw honest brutality. No conformity. No compromise. A murderous nightmare vomiting poisonous bile onto a twisted world. Yeah, that's the bits I like...” More...

70,000 Tons Of Metal, Day Four: "Band Vs. Nature"
I woke up at the usual 7:30am after arriving at my cabin less than three hours prior. I really thought there would be more of a hangover…but then again, it really wasn’t that long since my last drink. I usually reserve the last full day/night of the cruise (today) to be the time I lay down the camera and act more like a fan, but circumstances were such that Saturday night was the party night.
So the last full day of the cruise is met much like any other Sunday before you go back to work…the morning brings the feeling of “I still have a full day ahead of me.” By mid-morning you think “Ok…I have to find a way to slow this day down.” By noon its “I still have lunch and dinner and a bunch of shows to see.” By mid-afternoon its “well, the sun is still out.” By early evening its “Fuck…its almost over.”
I headed up to the Windjammer for some breakfast and I brought my camera so I can check out the 10am pool deck show with Twilight Force. After eating, I walked up to deck 12 and guards were blocking the pool deck from every angle. Apparently there was a banner that was blowing around that may cause harm if it detached…or so the story went. I checked back four times…even seeing many of the band members in costume and ready to go. It was not to be…Twlight Force would be cancelled and rescheduled…but this was just the beginning of the nightmare. More...
Diamond Head Tops Off 70,000 Tons Of Metal 2016
The 2016 installment of 70,000 Tons of Metal will set sail tomorrow. Promoters UMC have declared the event a sell out and announced that the final act added to the bill is legendary UK act Diamond Head.
Metal Underground.com will be on board for the cruise and will provide coverage in the form of daily show reports, photo galleries and a four part video series featuring performance clips and other antics from each day.

The All-Star Jam band, which returned this past January will also be back, led by Annihilator's Jeff Waters and members from the various acts aboard performing cover tunes live.
