"Carcass has not played a club tour in Germany for TWENTY YEARS!!! Yes I repeat TWENTY YEARS! This is gonna be great with both bands playing songs from their new killer albums 'Deceiver of The Gods' and 'Surgical Steel.' Anglo-Nordic Death Metal über Deutschland!"

Goes to show how big Amon Amarth are, I was always puzzled by their popularity but I guess they just hit that vein of MDM and viking metal that everyone else had put together from separate pieces before.

While I agree the almighty Carcass should open for no one.....AA is huge at the moment and it will introduce Carcass to a whole new batch of fans who aren't familiar with them.
Brilliant move actually.
Bring on the damn album already!

it is a bit off for sure from an old school perspective, but considering that a lot of people don't even know who Carcass is anymore, it makes a bit of sense...and it may indeed bring forth a Carcass revival, as alluded to above^ which would be most welcome...hopefully the run goes well, and they bring it over to this side for a dual-headliner! \m/

Consider also that AA is under 5 finger hand job on the mayhem bill, and it is too clear that commercialism pervades deeply...even into the metal, unfortunately

NP---Gods of War Arise (which sounds pretty much exactly like about half dozen other Amarth tunes :)

hellcat couldn't of said it any better with the mentioning of AA's appearance this year on Mayhem fest,
but still this would be an amazing US tour.
